I wanted to share some things that helped me with my job hunting work. And just like any advice that comes with parenting, take what works for you and don’t worry about the rest. --- Keeping track of it all --- It’s necessary to keep track of when, where and what you apply at, not only for your unemployment insurance but also for your own metrics and to not apply to the same job twice. I kept a spreadsheet but there are other services and sites like Teal that can also do it for you. In my spreadsheet (template attached for you to duplicate) I would track the position I applied for and the title as well as the name of the company and when I applied. Providing a link to the job description helped me make sure I wasn't applying for the same role twice. Once a week I’d go through the list and ensure the position was still available, marking it as Applied, Denied if it no longer was. And I'd update the status when I was in process with a company. In another tab, I'd also track who I spoke to and when I last followed up. When interviewing with multiple companies, it's important to know the status of where you left off otw you'll be searching through a Sent mail box. (true story, learn from my mistakes. ;) ) https://lnkd.in/g5KnnbbW #jobhunting
