When I went out on my own as a contractor last year, my parting gift from Kristina Halvorson was the best URL ever: Tenessa.com. After a busy year of new projects, I buckled down and launched it—thanks to the brilliance of Mat Marquis. If you are planning an event, I would love to partner with you on the program, speaker support, attendee experience, and anything else that is keeping you up at night!

Saving Your Event from being a Fyre Festival | Building Creative Events With Your Audience In Mind | Posts About The Process
2 Things clients refuse to accept when it comes to why events end up being disastrous. 1 – They have a full time job Clients who do not realize they cannot plan an event while also doing their regular job, are clients looking to fail their own event. This is not an attempt to get you to hire a planner. It’s not a claim that you cannot do both. You can, but at what level of execution? 2 – They can’t submit slides on time What baffles me is that people can create slides on time for a meeting, but can’t submit slides on time for an event. I once had a client who submitted their slides the day of their event. Want to know what happened? Sponsors were incorrectly listed Emcees said the wrong thing because slides were wrong Client was working with A/V to fix slides in the middle of the event Talk about self-induced stress. And it’s not just clients, Speakers do the exact same thing. What is the solution Andrew? Know your limitations. You don’t need a slide for everything. You don’t have to plan every part of your event. It's not a requirement for Speakers to have slides. Plan ahead and don't wait until the last minute to get things done. That's it friend. Tomorrow I'll be talking about the dangers of waiting until the last minute to make decisions. Follow me for more event planning tips.
