How should you highlight volunteer work and community involvement on your resume? Include volunteer work in your resume only if it provided you with the best exposure you have to prove you have previous experience solving a problem the job description specifies. For example, your best event planning experience may come from volunteering, so use that to show you have planned an event. Give the volunteer work a relevant title that benefits this particular application. Include it on your resume as a Work Experience, but add (Volunteer). Don't waste valuable resume real estate of a separate section that is so far down the page it may not even be seen. Adding volunteer work for the sake of showing you're a good person doesn't help the employer solve the problem they're hiring to do. That belongs on LinkedIn. #resumetips #resumewriting

The volunteer work section of your resume is a great way to show potential employers that you are passionate about your community and that you have the skills and experience necessary to be successful in the role you are applying for. When writing your volunteer work section, be sure to: List your volunteer experiences in reverse chronological order, starting with your most recent experience. For each experience, list the name of the organization, your role, and the dates you volunteered. Then, list your responsibilities and accomplishments in bullet points. Use strong action verbs and quantify your accomplishments whenever possible. Tailor your volunteer work section to each job you apply for. This means highlighting the volunteer experiences that are most relevant to the job you are applying for. Here is an example of a volunteer work section on a resume: Volunteer Work Volunteer Tutor City Library Anytown, CA 2022 - Present Tutored children in grades 3-5 in reading and math Helped students to improve their grades and develop a love of learning Volunteer Coordinator Habitat for Humanity Anytown, CA 2021 - 2022 Recruited and managed a team of volunteers to build homes for low-income families Helped to raise over $10,000 for Habitat for Humanity This volunteer work section is clear, concise, and tailored to the job of a teacher. It also highlights the candidate's relevant skills and experience. When writing your volunteer work section, be sure to proofread carefully for any errors in grammar or spelling. It is also important to have someone else review your resume to provide feedback. Here are some additional tips for writing a strong volunteer work section on your resume: Use keywords throughout your volunteer work section. This will help your resume to be found by potential employers who are using applicant tracking systems (ATS). Be specific and avoid using clichés. For example, instead of saying "helped people in need," say "volunteered as a tutor at the local library to help children improve their reading and math skills." #resumewriting #resumewriters #resumewritingservices #resumebuilder #jobsearch, #career #jobopportunities #ITJobs, #Cybersecurity or #TechTrends #leadership, #training, #success #content, #marketing, #socialmedia #resumewriting #resumewriters #resumewritingservices #resumebuilder #jobsearch, #career #jobopportunities #ITJobs, #Cybersecurity or #TechTrends #leadership, #training, #success #content, #marketing, #socialmedia #resumetips #resumewriter #resumeservices #resumebuilding #resumetemplate #resumemakeover #resumeexpert#resume keywords #resume tips #resume examples #resume builder #resume template #resume cover letter #resume objective #resume skills
