Story Teller, Advocate, Parent, Humanitarian Strategic | Individualisation | Connectedness | Ideation | Command
Attended a different sharing on the same topic of partnership. It was a panel/storytelling style, sharing about 2 of the highly successful projects helmed by 2 veteran public servants. However one thought lingered a little too long, and distracted me too much. “How do you manage difficult stakeholders?” A brave soul in the crowd raised. “What kind of training/skill sets (based on your experience) do you think will benefit the partnership and engagement work? . “(After going in circles for a couple of minute) I don’t think there is any training that can prescribe, or any particulate skill set that can be imparted.” So the best practices are the best bet, and sharing sessions like that are fantastic. … Except that, it wasn’t, or at least it wasn’t enough. No doubt, engagement and partnerships are an art, and we subjectively tailor and adjust every aspect of the experience as we enter. Yet, as I went for trainings like the one I went yesterday, the science part of things came out so strongly, and I walked away feeling so empowered. Of course we can’t be exhaustive about the 101 situation that might arise. But if we teach the principles well, and our PE folks understand exactly the psychology and sociology of each engagement - that stakeholders hold different degree of interest and influence, or how we tier each to help us prioritise the kind of engagaement. Then perhaps each engagement becomes less unpredictable, and becomes more bearable and enjoyable.

March zoomed by! What a whirlwind it was at Upskill Consulting Inc.! Check out our #monthlyhighlights. It was a month packed with training sessions and coaching. ✔️ Discrimination, Bullying, and Harassment Training: March was an action-packed month! One of our key focuses was on discrimination, bullying, and harassment training in collaboration with Ascent Employment Law. These sessions delved into crucial workplace issues, providing insights and strategies for fostering a respectful and inclusive environment. We're proud to have delivered tailored workshops to clients across various industries, including not-for-profit, automotive, and service-based sectors. Our approach is designed to meet the unique needs of each industry, ensuring practical and relevant training experiences. Our hands-on training approach includes immersive scenarios, allowing participants to not only absorb information but also learn how to effectively apply it in their day-to-day operations. ✔️ Power Skills Training: In addition to our focus on discrimination, bullying, and harassment training, we also conducted sessions on "power skills." These sessions aimed to elevate teams and leaders, focusing on areas such as performance feedback and effective communication in the workplace. Our virtual training sessions allowed us to connect with organizations and teams remotely, providing valuable learning opportunities. We're privileged to have had the chance to design and deliver training to individuals eager to enhance their skills and knowledge. ✔️ Professional Coaching: March also saw us engaging in extensive coaching sessions, assisting individuals from entry-level to leadership positions in navigating professional challenges. We're grateful for the opportunity to support individuals in their personal and career development journeys. ✔️ Living What We Preach: At Upskill Consulting Inc., we believe in practicing what we preach. Amidst our busy schedules, we prioritize finding time to decompress and enjoy the little moments. Recently, I embarked on a small getaway to the Sunshine Coast, embracing new sights and experiences as part of my commitment to adventure in 2024. We're grateful for these opportunities to do what we love. Thank you all and here's to a fantastic April ahead! #monthlyreview #monthlyupdate #highlightsreel #teamaccomplishments #teamsuccess #businessmilestones #HR #Hrconsulting #Hrconsultant #facilitator #corporatetraining #leadershipcoaching #executivecoaching #upskillhr

If we're successful at tribute, enterprise companies will never run a mentorship 'program.' again. 🛑 ✅ Instead, they'll use tribute to build a more #connectedworkplace where spontaneous, organic interactions among employees for the purpose of sharing knowledge, solving problems, and generating new ideas just happens. ✅ This approach recognizes that everyone has something valuable to contribute and that learning can and should happen in a multidirectional, continuous flow. #continuouslearning #learningculture #knowledgesharing #problemsolving #connection #collaboration #community #distributedwork #teamanywhere #futureofwork
