'𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒃𝒊𝒅 𝒊𝒔𝒏'𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕: 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕' Cheapest bid isn't always the smartest choice. Cost-efficiency isn't synonymous with low cost. Low bids often mean low quality—compromised materials, workmanship, creativity. Plus, time lost in delays and reworks. Suddenly, 'cheap' isn't economical. Rethink procurement strategy. The focus should be on 'best value,' not 'cheapest.' The sting of poor quality lasts longer than the joy of a low price. Consider the total package—skills, experience, resources—beyond price. Your projects deserve the best fit, not the lowest bidder.

The pricing game for construction contracts can be won with one word: Context. No price is ever too high if the context fits. - Is it a complex project? - What's the potential reward? - What’s your reputation worth? - What's the client's risk aversion level? Think about what value you're providing to the client and then consider: - Your margin - Your cost structures - Your competition But context shouldn't be the only factor in your costing. Consider the potential for change orders, inflation, supply chain disruptions, and other risks. So, before you ink that deal, weigh all factors, and create a pricing strategy that works best for you and your client. Remember, the goal is to create a win-win situation.
