🌍 Happy Earth Day! 💚 Today we join in celebrating our incredible planet and emphasize the urgent need to take action for a healthier planet and a brighter future. This year EARTHDAY.ORG emphasizes reducing plastic production by 60% by 2040. While the wind industry faces claims of contributing to microplastic pollution, a study by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency shows that Swedish wind power disperses only 0.65 tons of microplastics per year, significantly less than other sources like artificial turf fields and road traffic. However, the production and recycling of wind turbine components, particularly blades made of epoxy, present significant challenges. To mitigate this, Vestas and Stena Recycling A/S have announced a solution for the production and recycling of wind turbines, this marks a positive stride in reducing plastic waste and emphasizes the significance of collaboration for advancing circular technology. #Circularity is an enabler in Eolus’ Sustainability Strategy.
