Representatives of the FABEC States, their military authorities and air navigation service providers met in Paris on 2 July to discuss the EU's air traffic management performance scheme, traffic growth and investment needs, and the future of their relations with other functional airspace blocks. The preparation of the draft RP4 performance plan was considered particularly challenging in view of the airspace users expected capacity demand, EU-wide targets (and subsequent breakdown per Functional Airspace Block/ Member States) and the consequent need for investment in new systems and increased staffing. In addition, both States and ANSPs stressed the importance of a common performance plan materializing FABEC cooperation for the benefit of airspace users.
So many friendly faces! RP4 plan will indeed be a challenge, particularly after the discussions and in the context of the formal adoption of EU Regulation on single European sky SES2 . Hauts les cœurs!
I am very grateful to the 7 FABEC CEOs for their trust and support all along these 6 years spent leading the ANSP FABEC Group. It has been a great journey with a great team. I am convinced my friend and successor, Raimund Fridrich, will do great!
Moving forward! 👏

1moI am very honoured by the confidence shown by the #FABEC CEOs in entrusting me with the management of the FABEC ANSP Office. This was my first meeting in my new role. I would like to thank my #Skyguide CEO Alex Bristol for his support and my predecessor François-Xavier Prach for his time and patience in introducing me to my new role. We have a great team, excellent mutual trust and a lot of exciting work to do, all with one goal in mind: to ensure that air traffic in the core European area remains safe and continues to meet the needs of its users, while at the same time becoming more environmentally friendly. We must work together to ensure that a reliable and adequately funded ATM infrastructure is available to achieve this.
