It was wonderful to talk with Joshua Breland at Anedot about major gifts. A few takeaways from our conversation: - The term "major gifts" is arbitrary. We focused on our conversation on meaningful gifts that move organizations forward and how to go about determining what that level should be. - A zero based budgeting approach helps organizations to set fundraising goals and metrics. - It's important to share with donors the impact of gifts at different levels. Sharing that $5,000 accomplishes X while $50,000 accomplishes Y, helps to create a giving structure that donors can understand. - As with all fundraising, major gifts are all about relationships, trust, and communication. #fundraisingstrategy #nonprofitfundraising #majorgifts
