🔍 Let's crack the code 'MICE'. What exactly does MICE stand for? 🕵️♂️ 🔸MICE is an abbreviation for 4 terms that describe what MICE industry consists of, which are Meetings (Corporate Meetings), Incentives ( Incentive Travel for Corporate Employees), Conventions (Conference of Professional Associations), and Exhibitions (Business-to-Business (B2B) Tradeshows). Mega Events & World Festivals (Large scale events and international festivals).   🔸The MICE industry is one of the significant contributors to Thailand's economy. Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has introduced several initiatives to enhance #sustainability in the meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (#MICE) sector, fortifying its status as a ‘World’s Best MICE City’. Key efforts include the #LegacyToolkit, a Singapore #MICE Industry Carbon and Waste Baselining Study that aims for #carbonneutral participation at international tradeshows. The Legacy Toolkit assists #eventorganizers in designing impactful business events. It includes case studies and encourages #collaboration with local organizations like the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Center. Additionally, the #MICEIndustry Carbon and Waste Baseline exercise establishes #sustainabilitymetrics focusing on #energy, #water, and #waste. This data helps #STB monitor and update #carbonemission baselines, fostering #wastereduction and #decarbonization strategies. According to Yap Chin Siang, Deputy Chief Executive, #STB, these initiatives aim to guide the #MICE industry toward #sustainability and provide practical means for event organizers to create lasting benefits in Singapore.
