The latest Colliers Hong Kong Hospitality Insights for H1 2024 shows a surge in tourist arrivals, with a 64% increase in visitors from the same period in H1 2023, yet hotel performance remains challenged. Despite the year’s strong start, average daily rate (ADR) weakened 5-8% YoY from March to June as the market adapts to more budget-conscious travellers. On the investment front, we continue to see a trend of hotel conversions to student accommodation to meet demand. Looking ahead, traditional holidays and events may uplift hotel performance. Singapore's hotel sector has sustained its outperformance through 2024, with April year-to-date RevPAR registering a 25% increase over the corresponding period in 2019. International visitor arrivals to Singapore are projected to reach a range of 15 to 16 million in 2024, anticipated to generate approximately SGD 27.5 billion in tourism receipts. This positive outlook is underpinned by several favorable developments, including enhanced global flight connectivity and capacity, a robust calendar of concerts and events, as well as the implementation of mutual 30-day visa-free travel between China and Singapore. Collectively, these factors suggest the hotel and tourism market in Singapore is poised to sustain its positive trajectory. CBRE Asia Pacific CBRE Hotels CBRE #Singapore #Hotels #Hospitality
