Collectives organise people within the context of prevailing societal norms and structures, often referred to as the mainstream. The change that these #movements desire typically conflicts with, and is often resisted by the values and norms of mainstream society. The collectivisation process is marked by a #nonlinear and evolving trajectory, characterised by stages that may cycle, repeat, or transform over time and across different issues. There might be setbacks and dormant periods that are inherent to collectives and these periods are used by movements to exhibit #resilience to recoup and return with vigour. Central to this cyclical evolution is the crucial outcome of expanding critical thinkers within the community, fostering #Sindhanai (critical reflection) that enriches the collective with diverse perspectives and a deeper comprehension of societal issues. This continuous expansion of thinkers is the foundation for any social movement grounded in collectivisation. Furthermore, the importance of learning and reflection, epitomised by #Sindhanai, emerges as a guiding force in the collective process. It empowers these groups to understand the root causes of issues and adapt their strategies accordingly.
