This is real and I have 8 years experience of testing this device. The main question is how does the metalens (invisible) depending on size, know biometrically where the pupil is. The answer is in the understanding of the human eye retina photoreceptors and their electromagnetic properties that combine together. Encoding the human eye receptors. https://lnkd.in/gnHY6jyi.

With the rising popularity of video games and virtual reality experiences, scientists are harnessing these technological advancements to aid individuals with twin cochlear implants in enhancing their sound localization and speech comprehension skills. Led by researchers from Imperial College London, this initiative aims to address the challenges posed by cochlear implants, which often distort sounds and make speech comprehension difficult, especially in noisy environments. Children, understandably, don't like lying in big and more importantly loud radiology machines. So it's great to see researchers developing a new eye tracking technology which enables children to engage in an immersive virtual reality experience while undergoing an MRI scan. They already tested it on 23 children aged 2 to 13 which means they could play games and watch films during MRI using only their eyes! Saccades. Seemingly simple, yet these rapid, small eye movements allow us to quickly shift focus from one point to another, playing a vital role in activities like reading, driving, and maintaining situational awareness. These movements are controlled by a network of brain areas, including the frontal eye fields, superior colliculus, cerebellum, and, importantly, the brainstem, including the the oculomotor (III), trochlear (IV), and abducens (VI) nerves. Impaired saccadic function, which can occur due to Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and even concussion/TBI, can lead to difficulties with reading, balance, or tracking objects, underscoring how essential these tiny, often-overlooked movements are for seamless daily interactions with the world. The NeuroFlex utilises eye (and head) tracking VR goggles to accurately measure saccades, improving access to this important test for clinicians and patients.

Empathy Technology Human-Centered Healthcare: The Winning Formula for Healing As we see innovations in healthcare, particularly for children going through surgery, like this great post, it’s clear that combining creativity, technology, and empathy is the future. 🌟❤️ This approach is not just about advancing medical treatments; it's about transforming the entire healthcare experience for both patients and families. At the heart of this transformation lies the HeartConomics framework, which emphasizes that innovation driven by love, kindness, and empathy leads to better outcomes. Here’s why this winning combination is crucial in healthcare: Empathy-Driven Innovation: Technology is powerful, but without empathy, it can feel cold and detached. In healthcare, empathy ensures that technology serves people, not the other way around. Tools like video games for children undergoing surgery, as highlighted in this example, or even virtual reality are incredible innovations that ease fear and anxiety—fostering emotional healing alongside physical care. Human-Centric Technology: When we develop technology with people at the center, we create solutions that are not only effective but also compassionate. From personalized treatments to immersive experiences that comfort patients, human-centered technology addresses the whole person, not just the illness. Kindness in Healthcare: Kindness in healthcare isn’t just about bedside manners—it’s about designing systems that care. From patient-friendly apps to streamlined procedures that reduce stress, kindness can be embedded in every touchpoint of care. The HeartConomics approach teaches us that when healthcare is infused with love, everyone—patients, families, and healthcare providers—benefits. Well-Being Through Compassionate Care: Combining technology with a compassionate, human-centered approach leads to well-being. Patients, especially children, experience reduced anxiety and improved recovery when they feel understood, cared for, and supported. Healthcare isn’t just about curing diseases; it’s about nurturing well-being on every level. Love as a Catalyst for Change: At the core of HeartConomics is the belief that love can be a driving force for innovation. By designing healthcare environments that are loving and compassionate, we inspire medical breakthroughs that serve not just the body, but the soul. In a world where healthcare is rapidly evolving, the fusion of empathy, technology, and a human-centered approach is the ultimate formula for creating environments that heal in every sense of the word. This is not just the future of healthcare—it’s the future of human connection. #HeartConomics #EmpathyInHealthcare #TechnologyForGood #CompassionateCare #HumanCenteredInnovation #WellBeing #LoveAndInnovation #HealthcareRevolution

We were presented with a brief from FundamentalVR to develop a 'virtual syringe' capable of replicating the position of a real syringe within their VR simulation. Our solution precisely achieved this goal. It mimicked realistic syringe injection behaviours, including accurate resistance and feedback. With an impressive sample rate of up to 600Hz and a resolution of 0.01mL, the virtual syringe operates seamlessly without the need for external power! No matter what your project may be, Elimo are here to help. 🤝 #Engineering #Software #UKmfg #Electronics #Manufacturing #ProductDevelopment #Hardware #Designing #DesignEngineering #Firmware #EmbeddedSoftware
