The central German state of Hesse has set itself the goal of sourcing its electricity entirely from renewable sources by 2045. To achieve this ambitious target, an increase in installed capacity by sixfold by 2030 is necessary. Consequently, a continuous and reliable expansion of renewable energy is essential. 🌎💚 Since 2013, the VSB Group has actively contributed to this initiative in Hesse. 🌬☀️ Our Vockenrod wind farm, serenely situated in the Antrifttal in the Vogelsberg area, is now equipped with three modern Nordex N149-5.X wind turbines, which together generate a capacity of 17.1 megawatts. There’s more good news: Following a successful bidding process in February, we have received permission to expand the wind farm. Nordex has recently secured three orders for three wind projects in Scotland totalling 150MW. The company will supply a total of 25 turbines for the undisclosed wind farms which will all be built in the north of Scotland in 2026. 🌬️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Nordex will supply and install seven N149/5.X machines for one site, another seven of the same model alongside two N133/4.8 units for a second 50MW wind farm in the country, and the third and final site will feature 11 N149/5.X turbines. Gwynt Glas is a joint venture between EDF Renewables UK, ESB and Reventus Power – supported by DP Energy Group's Pembrokeshire based team, for their local knowledge and expertise – which could power up to one million homes with clean energy. ♻️ Scotland approves 560MW floater Greenvolt Group ♻️ Flotation Energy and Vårgrønn, a joint venture between Plenitude (Eni) and HitecVision, have announced that their 560MW floating offshore wind project Green Volt has been granted offshore planning approval. With onshore consent announced earlier this month, Greenvolt Group has now received all its planning approvals and remains on track to be the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in Europe When completed, Greenvolt Group will comprise up to 35 floating wind turbines - making it the World’s largest floating wind farm to date. The combined will be capable of producing up to 560MW of low-carbon electricity when it begins operation in 2029. It is estimated the wind farm will save around one million tonnes of carbon each year, while also attracting up to £3 billion in investment and creating hundreds of green jobs. #GreenTech #Renewables #GreenInvestments #OffshoreWind
