Following the path of holistic sustainability and aiming to make a positive contribution to our local ecosystem, volunteers from the Bhiwadi Center of Excellence planned a day visit to the SOS Children’s Village, Faridabad (Haryana) on World Environment Day in June. A fun-filled afternoon was organized with the youth there, engaging them in activities such as tree planting, best made-out-of-waste crafts and a quiz. Keeping with the theme of the year “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience.” the event kicked off with a tree planting drive, followed by a session where the importance of waste segregation and management, with recycling at household level, was discussed. On this Earth Day save the earth by laying Initiatives to nurture it for a better Tommrow. 1. Recycling programs: Implementing recycling programs in our community and workplace to reduce waste and promote responsible waste management. 2. Community clean-up events: Organizing clean-up events to remove litter and debris from our environment, such as beaches, parks, and rivers. 3. Tree planting initiatives: Planting trees in our community to increase green spaces, encourage biodiversity, and improve air quality. 4. Sustainable gardening: Adopting sustainable gardening practices, such as composting, using native plants, and avoiding chemicals, to reduce our environmental impact. 6. Our Clothing Collection Bin Program: Focuses on recycling and reusing, in order to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills. When you donate your unwanted clothing to us, we carefully sort and inspect each item to determine its condition. Wearable clothing items are then cleaned and repaired, if necessary, before being resold in our thrift stores or online marketplace. This not only gives your clothing a second life, but also helps to reduce the demand for new clothing production, which can be resource-intensive and harmful to the environment. #soiltosoulresorts #weareecofriendly #weareresponsible #soulfulexperiences #ektanagar #udaipur #saveearth #myearth

Mr. Hawari, a member of the Dhobi community near Narayanghat, Bharatpur, has been involved in the traditional business of cloth washing for five generations. Initially, his family washed clothes directly in the Narayani River, but now they utilize locally-made machines and tap water from the municipality. Despite changes in their surroundings, such as the growth of hotels and lodges in the area, Mr. Hawari continues his family's legacy. During an interview with Ms. Manisha Bhattarai, our GESI and safeguarding specialist for project CAP, Mr. Hawari highlighted how he has adapted to modern methods while preserving traditional practices. He emphasized that by using tap water and mechanized washing, he contributes to reducing pollution in the Narayani River compared to traditional river washing methods. In the image, Mr. Hawari is folding clothes dried on the riverbank. His dedication not only sustains a longstanding family tradition but also demonstrates a mindful approach to environmental sustainability in his profession. Mr. Hawari stands as a beacon of inspiration for other river-dependent families whose livelihoods are intertwined with nature. Project CAP (Collaborative Approach for Preventing Plastic Leakages in Rivers of Nepal) under Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia is a project that aims to divert plastic waste into product value chain from landfills and rivers by strengthening plastic waste collection mechanism and strengthening recycling efforts through the introduction of technological innovations. While doing so, integrated plastic collection model will be developed by engaging and training vulnerable communities including dhobi community. We are delighted to share that as part of our CSR project, KSB Ltd (KSB India) and KSB Tech Pvt. Ltd. have taken a significant step towards a greener future by initiating a mission to plant over 15,000 trees in Pradhikaran, PCMC, Pune, and Vambori, Ahmednagar. This project, launched on World Environment Day, 5th June 2024, reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability. Our initiative employs the Miyawaki technique, a method renowned for enhancing biodiversity, particularly benefiting bird populations. By fostering a dense and native forest, we aim to create a thriving ecosystem. Moreover, this initiative is expected to sequester a substantial amount of carbon annually, contributing to our efforts in combating climate change. Together, let's nurture nature and pave the way for a sustainable future! #CSR #GreenCSR #KSBGreenSpirit #WorldEnvironmentDay #Sustainability #GreenLiving #KSBforNature #GreenTogether #GreenFutureWithKSB #TreePlantation #MiyawakiForest #SustainableFuture #EnvironmentFirst #SaplingsOfHope #Biodiversity #ClimateAction #SowForTomorrow #KSBGreenInitiative #RootsOfChange #KSBLimited #KSB

Solid waste can be managed, only of waste generator (residents) start participating in waste management by segregation at source and on site treatment of organic waste
Helping Ajanta Apartments Turn Trash into Treasure! Hello, everyone! We are IPCA, and we recently helped Ajanta Apartments solve their garbage problem. The residents were frustrated with inconsistent trash collection. We explained that wet waste can be composted and dry waste can be recycled. Excited by this, the residents, led by DK Mohan, started separating their waste. Now, 75% of the residents follow these practices. We collect the plastic waste, and they compost wet waste in special bins called aerobins. We’re happy to have helped turn their trash into treasure!
