🎤I was speaking at a Fireside event at Flink in front of their team together with Christoph Cordes the other day (and switched from green to pink for a moment).
We talked about the different steps and challenges our two companies have gone through.
📈Flix is much older (we are still young though) than Flink, but somehow many of our early experiences were very similar.
We both started in very competitive markets that sprung up and became high-growth environments in no time.
💪Both companies had to act quickly, be resilient, and execute above everything else to succeed.
When we started Flix, we were not exactly as techy as we are today regarding how we do our business.
In fact, our first network planning was me drawing lines on a map. No software, no data-driven approach, and no machine learning to make it more effective.
🏃But we made it work. Because we were resilient, agile and we had a long-term vision and goals.
It was far from perfect, but we kept executing, learning, and eventually started getting the details right.
It is the same story as Flink. They also focused on simply pushing and getting stuff done. The details and optimizations came as they grew.
Today, we are both key players in our markets, or even market leaders, despite other companies having far more resources than we had. 🏆
💡Unlike in the beginning, Flix is primarily driven through tech and data today. And our network planning is far more efficient (I am banned from drawing lines), meaning we can do even more with fewer resources needed, giving us a huge advantage over our competitors to this day.
Congratulations! Truly something to be celebrated!
