South Florida Water Management District’s Post

SFWMD Taking Action: The SFWMD is continuing to monitor the rainfall impacting South Florida and adjusting the regional water management system to drain water away from communities as quickly as possible.    Field crews are installing temporary pumps to help keep water moving through the system and reduce flooding impacts to local communities.    The SFWMD will continue to deploy resources and utilize structures to move water away from communities.    The SFWMD continues to strongly encourage all secondary local governments and special districts to continue to monitor the forecast as more rain moves into the area and ensure their systems and storm drains are cleared.    If you are experiencing flooding, visit SFWMD.gov/FloodControl and type in your address to find your local drainage operator.
