Investment Portfolio ⑥ ウミトロン UMITRON UMITRON, a pioneering deep-tech startup operating in Singapore and Japan, is at the forefront of tackling global food and environmental challenges by leveraging cutting-edge technologies specifically designed for the aquaculture sector. Combining their expertise in IoT, AI, and satellite remote sensing, the company has developed specialised machine-learning algorithms catering to multiple species within the industry and user-friendly data visualisation platforms that allow users to access their production data effortlessly. One area that sets the company apart lies in its adept utilisation of satellite data to provide high-resolution marine environmental insights across vital parameters, including sea surface temperature, chlorophyll levels, dissolved oxygen, salinity and wave height, to name a few. These datasets furnish UMITRON's users with detailed insights into their surrounding environment, enabling them to optimise their aquaculture practices effectively. UMITRON also employs customised AI-based algorithms to assess fish-feeding behaviour in real-time, preventing overfeeding and underfeeding, thereby reducing feed waste. This technological suite allows farmers to collect more comprehensive production information with enhanced visualisation, ultimately offering improved operational insights and fostering continuous improvement in sustainable aquaculture practices. In collaboration with UMITRON, the Toyo Seikan Group is committed to establishing a robust seafood supply chain, ensuring the delivery of safe, delicious, and sustainable seafood products. #UMITRON #Aquaculture #AI #Openup

Lucky 21. Today we completed our 21st Cawthron Institute IoT-String deployment. Today’s deployment of one of our cost-effective temperature strings used to monitor water column temperatures for the aquaculture industry was for Ngāti Rarua in Admiralty Bay. This deployment is a milestone for several reasons, firstly it represents the first deployment of this technology for our project partner Ngāti Rarua; secondly it's our maiden deployment of gear in Admiralty Bay in the Marlborough Sounds, which has historically had poor to no reception for data telemetry; thirdly it’s timely to be getting more of this gear out, especially with the increasing frequency of marine heat waves in New Zealand. We look forward to getting and sharing these data with Ngāti Rarua so they can use it to make more informed decisions on their mussel farming operations, which could ultimately lead to better farming efficiency under changing coastal conditions. It's still not raining. Catalonia: State of emergency declared as region faces worst ever drought! All the biggest world news agencys (like Reuters, Euronews, The Guardian etc.) noticed that. Water is life. This news spread all over the world. Water scarcity has become more important than oil, gold and... everything. After all, without water, EVERYTHING will cease to be necessary. In Barcelona, water scarcity is a rarity and an emergency. In many countries of the world, water scarcity is common and residents have been experiencing this deficit every day for thousands years. Probably, people of our Planet Earth should think about how modern technologies can allow, even with a shortage of water, to irrigate agricultural land and grow plants necessary for the sustenance of mankind. In my opinion, the easiest way is smart irrigation. Agricultural transformation technologies using intelligent irrigation systems based on artificial intelligence are becoming popular all over the world. The Internet of Things (IoT) and BIGDATA bases analysis are shaping the future of data-driven agriculture. A small farm and a huge agricultural holding company - in the near future, everyone will be forced to treat water with special care. Water is life. https://lnkd.in/gYWxwX_t
