This webinar today (13 Feb. 2024) is a teaser for the launch of AIPMO - Association of International Project Management Officers Principle-based Maturity and Impact model which will be on March 6, 2024. To understand the implications of the groundbreaking model Arthur Goetsch and Dr. Robert Joslin will explore the purpose and types of benchmarking, along with prerequisites for a successful benchmarking exercise. Then they uncover the shortcomings of traditional benchmarking models especially when applied to PMOs. The transition to this groundbreaking approach requires the introduction of the 3 PMO domains of 'Control,' 'Influence,' and 'Concern' domains, which are the missing link to ensuring objective benchmarking that reflects the nature of PMO adaptability. This was only discovered after three years of a lot of experimenting with doctorate students and other experts which resulted in a paper being published at a research conference in Switzerland in 2022. The webinar will give you a preview of the model, highlighting its transformative impact and practical application. 🌟 Reflecting on the transformative discussions and insights from the recent JRC Management and Portfolio days in Ispra. Cross-disciplinary approach of portfolios creates new insights, new knowledge and new methods and it allows us to better integrate across scientific and policy domains. We have made significant progress in our new portfolio way of working in 2023. The scale of challenges Europe faces drives us to deliver even better scientific content in support of EU policies. Here are my key takeaways: ➡️ Bringing people together across JRC management and portfolios is key for our common sense of purpose, togetherness and collaboration ➡️ The progress made by each of our 33 portfolios was showcased through various interactive sessions, highlighting achievements and the path forward ➡️ We learned from the experience of Vinnova – Sweden’s Innovation Agency – Thank you Darja Isaksson for inspiration and openness to share your story about using portfolios to deliver directionality ➡️ We addressed challenges, such as ensuring buy-in to the new way of working, optimising the efficiency of our collaboration and finding the right balances in roles and responsibilities. Looking ahead to 2024 and beyond, our focus will remain on leveraging portfolios to deliver even better science. #PortfolioWayOfWorking 🚀
