𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 – 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 Happy #Valentine’s Day! ❤️ What if there was a present that said, “I don’t only love you on this special day, but on every single one to come”? Sarah Zergaw and Paolo Oliva, founders of EMMIE GRAY, offer exactly that: their hand-made arrangements and bouquets of real, high-quality eternal flowers stay fresh and beautiful for years, making them the perfect everyday reminder of the Valentine’s spirit. For the day of love, EMMIE GRAY even designed special gift sets to spread a little extra romance. 🌹 On this occasion, we are happy to announce our own relationship update. With a follow-on #investment #SevenAccelerator prolongs the collaboration with the Düsseldorf-based #startup. From January to June, the EMMIE GRAY’s spots will run on ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE’s channels and platforms. We are looking forward to continuing the good work. Real flowery prospects! 💐

We are really excited about what Trace 3D is building! Congrats to the team on the close led by Rev1 Ventures & Impellent Ventures -- pumped that MOVE Venture Capital was able to be a part of the round! "Trace 3D was founded in 2021, with Greg Tran, Martin Smith and Sean Couture stepping into the respective roles of CEO, CTO, and head of 3D art. The startup, which builds location-based branded augmented reality experiences, is a product of some of Magic Leap’s early content struggles." Thanks Martin and Jan for the great discussion in today’s Investments & Exits episode of Startup Insider. See the link to the episode in the comments. 👉 TL;DR - as we discussed quite a few topics: (1) Congrats to Christian Adelsberger and the whole team from NECTURE (formerly Ubiq) for extending their Series A to a total of 7m EUR (Smart Energy Innovationfunds, VERBUND AG x Ventures, Speedinvest, smartworks innovation). We discussed the relevance of advanced 🚗🔌 fleet management solutions for electrifying fleets and the transition the business has made of the the last years to where it is today (2) In that context we discussed the need and challenges of 🔄 adapting or pivoting your business model as a founder/team. While we owe founders a lot of respect for the resilience and endurance we also discussed the need to make adaptations to your journey as a venture (3) Congrats also to the team of Xaver for closing a very strong 5m EUR Pre-Seed round from Motive Ventures and Cavalry Ventures. We briefly discussed the strong tailwinds in the market besides the challenges ahead overcoming the problems which some players in the market faced before (4) Finally, we reemphasized what it means to be a #PreSeed investor - writing first checks as we at Picus Capital or our friends from Cavalry Ventures do. Pre-Product, Pre-Pitchdeck is more than an accepted reality for us but rather the sweet spot in which we love to partner up and be a sparringspartner.

The things you can do in a year! Last year, we were consulting and wondering why something like ViVV.ai didn't exist. Fast forward 12 months, and we will be walking the Croisette in our brand new ViVV Le Cannes T-shirts. This is a significant event for us because the inspiration the event gave us. It's crazy, but this year we have working ad-tech, paying clients, and an incredible team working on real-world marketing challenges. We still have a small amount of SEIS investment left and are looking for a few more beta partners. If you see the shirts and want to talk, grab us (gently). Even just a hi-five and support for what we are doing is sufficient. See you next week! BK & Nicola (1st timer). Nicola Cooper Brandon K. #cannes #startup #adtech #marketing

𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻𝘀 A unicorn is a company that is hoped to be the next big thing and make a billion dollars. When these unicorns work they are great for everyone involved, but they are rare. If everybody chases unicorns that means more people will fail. A draft horse is a strong horse which can reliably pull heavy loads. As a company, a draft horse is a company which can quickly get to market and start making profits for the founders. There a lot more chances starting a successful draft horse than there are a successful unicorn. In a unicorn the mantra has to be ‘growth first’ for a draft horse the mantra can be ‘profit first’. I’d like to see more investments into these ‘profit first’ companies. One way to do this is to create simple physical products. A simple physical product can often be designed, prototyped and manufactured in less than a year! I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have profit Just because your idea won't turn into a billion dollar company doesn't mean it won't be a million dollar company!
