We are delighted to introduce our first SevenVentures Pitch Day 2024 jury member! 🎉 We are thrilled to welcome Alexandra Szarmach, Chief Human Resources Officer at flaconi, to our #PitchDay jury for the first time. Alexandra brings a wealth of experience from top brands like Sephora and Nestle Nespresso. At flaconi – one of ProSieben Sat.1 Group’s biggest and most successful shareholdings – she is responsible for developing a motivating and appreciative company culture for the more than 700 employees from over 60 nations. Her dedication to female empowerment and supporting young brands is truly inspiring. Welcome, Alexandra! We look forward to your insights at the New Com Summit on October 15th. (Applications open soon - stay tuned!) We interviewed Alexandra about her role and what she’s looking for from start-ups. 1. What is your connection to the #startup world? Are you yourself an investor, or simply passionate about developing young brands? As Chief Human Resources Officer, I am genuinely passionate about young talents. Our role as an e-commerce player is to support innovative ideas and young, ambitious entrepreneurs. On top of that I am always seeking ways to especially empower female talents and get connected with them. Either through mentoring, as their coach or just by encouraging them to keep on working on their projects. I have worked in different companies with a strong start-up flair & mindset and always loved the energy, hands-on mentality and high level of commitment from teams to push their idea to a blooming business. 2. What are you most looking forward to at SevenVentures Pitch Day 2024? Are there any current start-up trends or innovations that you are super excited about at the moment? I am very excited to meet the people behind the ideas and start-ups and to learn more about their journey and vision. Business wise, I am very interested in everything around AI. I would also love to see some female power on stage and in the finale. 3. What in your opinion marks out a successful start-up pitch? I am very curious to hear the story behind the start-ups, so that we can get to know the entrepreneurs and the persons behind, what drives them and why do they believe in their idea. I would love them to let us experience why they are so passionate and convinced about their idea, not just by numbers but also by sharing their vision and journey behind their company in a captivating way. My message to all participants: Get straight to the point & don't forget to enjoy the moment! 4. And lastly - what do you want to see from a Pitch Day winner? I wish to see a great mindset and commitment as well as a disruptive product that appeals to the customer. Thanks Alexandra! See you at SevenVentures Pitch Day on 15th October! #entrepreneurship #startups #venturecapital #pitchcompetition

Some of the tricks I shared include: - Using tools like Sharetribe & Squarespace to get started - Joining founder networks like Entrepreneurs Collective and Everything Marketplaces to embed myself in the ecosystem & expand my knowledge. - Surrounding myself with supporters and cheerleaders who really help when the going gets tough. You can learn a lot more details about the above and more, by listening to the episode below! #startups #founders #fundraising #marketplaces

We're excited to introduce Vivian Wiljanen who joined our team yesterday as Program & Event Manager 💜 Welcome to the team, Vivian! ❓ What inspired you to join XPRENEURS? After working for several years in different start-ups in various roles, I was inspired to join XPRENEURS Incubator to see and learn about the start-up ecosystem from the other side. ❓ What are you most excited about in your new role? In my new role, I’m most excited about working at the epicenter of #entrepreneurship - with both visionary start-ups creating innovative solutions, and dedicated experts supporting these start-ups in making their ideas come to life. ❓ What role do you see yourself playing in supporting and nurturing the start-ups that XPRENEURS works with? With my previous experiences in different roles in start-ups, I will work on creating the best program curriculum possible so that founders gain the knowledge they need to be successful on their start-up journeys. Additionally, I will support the start-ups by organizing events that provide meaningful connections and give the entrepreneurs the spotlight they deserve. ❓ What's one piece of advice you'd offer to aspiring entrepreneurs or anyone looking to make an impact in the start-up ecosystem? No one is expecting you to be perfect. Stay humble, embrace your mistakes and failings, and learn and improve from them. You’ll come out wiser on the other side, and might even be grateful for the obstacles on the way.

What Impact founders need to learn… 🎤 Pitching is the key to Impact Startup success! 🚀💼 As startup founder of ecoscoring one essential skill I must master is the art of pitching. Whether I am presenting to investors, giving a keynote speech, or participating in an interview, a strong and confident pitch can make all the difference. I recently attended Janine Steegers Mediatraining session, and she shared valuable insights on how to create a winning pitch. Two key elements to focus on are a strong opening and a memorable closing. These set the foundation for a powerful pitch that captures attention and leaves a lasting impression. But it doesn't end there. To truly excel, founders should also work on three individual themes within their pitch, showcasing their expertise and highlighting the unique value proposition of their startup. These themes - presented in a storytelling way - can vary from market analysis and competitive advantage to social impact and scalability. Practicing these themes will help founders deliver a pitch that exudes confidence and resonates with their audience. And the best part? The skills learned in crafting a pitch can also be applied to delivering a captivating keynote or acing an interview. Yesterday, some of my Impact Factory buddy startups had wonderful investor pitches in a format called “Die Höhle der Möwen”. Dear r3leaf, Lucoyo Health GmbH, RoofUz and CCC ClimateCarbon Collection, well done, you are amazing! A well-structured pitch can pave the way for exciting opportunities and take your startup to new heights! 🚀💼 📷 Pitch interview in front of the TV camera at the Enkelfähig Summit in August with pitch buddy Arne Knöchel from CCC. #StartupPitching #ConfidenceIsKey #PitchingTips #Entrepreneurship #StartupJourney #PitchPerfect #KeynoteSpeaker #InterviewSkills Tore Waldhausen Maja Krishnabhakdi Felix Hofmann Oliver Kuschel, CFA Dirk Sander Nils Beckmann Jessica Gambusch Alicia Reimer Anabel Starosta Tim Vaupel

⭐️ Meet our first speaker Blake Wittman on the next TRUESDAY panel: Heavy lifting in business, gym & life.💪 Blake has almost 20 years’ experience in HR and talent attraction. He is co-owner of GoodGroup, comprising 3 game-changing companies in the HR/recruitment industry including GoodCall, Datacruit, and Recruitment Academy. He leads growth and strategy for the Group and advises dozens of companies on the best ways to hire, build their brand, and change the recruitment landscape. He’s an analytical extrovert with a passion for people and activity with purpose. His life-changing event in 2022 solidified his belief that life and business should be enjoyed and challenged. What we will talk about? "Aim high and never fall" — they teach us. But shit happens. You could break 15 bones with one bad fall, or you could be a 20-something startup founder with huge success and the body of a 70-year-old. ❓How do we learn to fall more gracefully or avoid overdoing it? Society seems obsessed with the idea that falling equals failing and heavier is always better. Let's challenge that narrative. Join us for next TRUESDAY where we'll talk about the tough truths of fit/business. Is it better to speed for the sky, or does persistence win the game? Michal Vrátný from Železná koule and Blake Wittman from GoodCall ✓ will share their insights, hosted by Katerina Syslova. Don't miss it & bring your weights.
