It’s a blood test that identifies the presence of polycystic ovarian morphology (PCOM) in women with suspected PCOS. Two weeks ago, we highlighted the article from Cori L. Ofstead about the necessity to regularly inspect the inside of endoscopes between reprocessing procedures. . 👉🏻👉🏻 Results showed that residual soil is still present in the majority of endoscopes (up to 84% of them are infected) and that 52% of endoscopes retain fluid. It is known that an aqueous environment is particularly prone to the development of biofilm.  . Ofstead stated that “Bacterial outbreaks have been linked to damaged and contaminated endoscopes. During several outbreaks among patients undergoing bronchoscopy, ureteroscopy, or duodenoscopy, visible defects or soil were discovered in the implicated endoscopes only after numerous patients were infected.”  . ✋🏻 When identifying highly soiled Medical Devices, immediate action should be taken in order to prevent (further) patient contamination and to avoid expensive repairs. .
