Looking back at our conference in Kraków, we cannot let it pass without mentioning Service Excellence part, which played a big role in this amazing event. At the end of day one we gave a small introduction to Service Excellence combined with a discussion panel with our Leadership Team. The interview conducted by our trainers aimed to gather some perspective from our top managers on the program itself and how did it impact their professional journey. We discussed the importance of SE and agreed that it is one of our major focus areas for the future. Day 2 we kicked -off with a short presentation about our values, strategy, reflecting a bit on the history of our program and summarizing a survey we conducted pre-event. Divided into smaller groups, each led by an internal trainer, we took part in a especially engaging game called Capricious Creatures, which was held by an external company. The workshop was focused on customer service, however we could clearly see all service excellence modules integrated into it. Without active listening, respecting our differences originating from different cultures, putting customer care in practice and trying to optimize our processes by owning a solution, we would not be successful in achieving the desired goal of the game. Once again we could see that communication is the key and people are in the center of everything we do. Functioning in a multinational team can be challenging, but I am happy to say, the Creatures went home safe and sound! 😉 We ended the day with a summary of our learnings, positive feedback and smiles on our faces, charged with great energy for the upcoming months. This wouldn`t be possible without our extraordinary team of internal trainers that put a lot of effort, time and their hearts into facilitating the session. Thank you All! As one of our colleagues said: “That`s our work, we do Service Excellence”. #VELUX #VELUXSSC #SE #SERVICEEXCELLENCE #WORKSHOP

Last night's event in Melbourne was truly exciting! We gathered a lot of smart people who are interested in some really advanced technology areas like artificial intelligence, life sciences, robotics, and quantum computing. What Happened: Robotics Talk: Tenzin Crouch shared insights from his work in robotics, showing us what’s on the horizon for this technology. AI Discussions: Yana Martens talked about her experiences with AI, which was super insightful for everyone interested in how this technology is evolving. Data Science: James Blackwell talked about how data science is used in different ways, which was really interesting. Special Thanks: Eike Zeller: A big thank you to Eike Zeller from Stone and Chalk for helping make this event happen. They’re really great at bringing people together to talk about new ideas. Graham : I also want to thank Graham for organizing last month’s meeting for founders and co-founders which was really helpful. Roomlane: Our Story Let me tell you all about Roomlane. It all started with a simple idea—how can we make beautiful furniture without harming the planet? As a Co founder, I wanted to address the problem of fast furniture ending up in landfills. So, we created Roomlane, a sustainable furniture brand in Melbourne. Our furniture is crafted from Australian timber, known for its durability and beauty. Each piece is designed to be resold and passed down to the next generation, reducing waste and promoting sustainability. We’ve bootstrapped our way from the beginning, driven by a passion for making a difference. Seeking Your Support: During the event, I asked everyone: How can you help Roomlane spread its message in your community? Your support can help promote sustainability and our mission. New Friends: I met some great folks like Gavriel Olshansky, Saksham K., and James Joyson who are all doing amazing things with technology. Deep Conversations: Generative AI: Had a fascinating chat with Josh Rowe and Stephen Foxworthy about generative AI and its potential, especially in creating new types of images and designs. When explaining the name of Josh in Hindi, I couldn't resist throwing in the famous Bollywood line, "How is the Josh?" which brought a good laugh! Networking at events not only expands our community but also enriches our collaboration opportunities, helping us spread the word more effectively. Let’s make a difference together!

Management insight! 💡 The most important takeaway for me after 20 years in the business: Doing beats planning! The difference between a great strategy and a failed one is the ability to execute. Which method you use is ultimately irrelevant, the important thing is to apply one! For us OKR is the right fit!
At Bartenbach The Lighting Innovators, we have been using OKR (Objectives and Key Results) since last year and the results are impressive! The enthusiasm in the team is palpable, because we are already seeing and living the first successes within the company.
