Back for Day 2, final day of the Science|Business Green Deal & Climate Days. Starting with a parallel session on green tech investment. Yesterday Louise Drogoul , our Advisor for Innovation & Sustainability contributed to a panel on 'How the EU can build up its innovation ecosystem to reach net-zero'. “Rather than wanting to be at the centre of the ecosystem, Universities of S&T can act as the glue bridging between the different ecosystems and levels. And at the centre of all these ecosystems, there are the people. We need to ensure that research and innovation are tailored for people and by people, in an inclusive and global way, by fostering interdisciplinary research and engaging the youth. That is the only way we will solve climate issues and reach net-zero”, Louise defended.

Under the broad theme of “Climate and Society”, the 2023 edition of Prototypes for Humanity presents an impressive group of impact innovation projects from 46 countries and 92 universities. The theme underscores the vital link between environmental sustainability and social well-being, which is especially significant as we mark the arrival of the COP28 conference in the UAE. Every participating project offers a reminder that the challenges we face in climate change are also opportunities to foster a more resilient and equitable society, where the well-being of our planet is seen as integral to the well-being of its people.
