🔗 As we approach Second Chance Month this April, we're proud to launch a new blog series that highlights our top performing companies when it comes to providing job opportunities for those impacted by the criminal justice system. Nearly 80 million Americans have an arrest or conviction record, which often creates barriers to obtaining steady employment due to negative social stigmas and discriminatory corporate policies. However, in our research we've discovered companies that are leading the way in second chance hiring, creating more equitable policies and programs that truly provide a second chance for returning citizens. Join us in celebrating progress and advocating for policy change. Follow along as we dive deeper into the best practices of these companies in the coming weeks! #SecondChanceMonth #SecondChanceHiring #FairChanceHiring #BreakTheCycle #CriminalJustice

The stats are amazing: Companies that use a skills-first approach to hiring (vs looking for specific previous titles) can expand their potential candidate pool by 20x -- while increasing access to jobs for under-represented groups. Nice piece here on the role that the federal government can play in boosting this approach. https://lnkd.in/gzb-aedd
