🟢 We are glad to present you the Competence Navigation Tool of the European project TEACH4SD, created by Elisava Research to map your personal sustainable development profile. This navigation tool is designed as a guide to help you explore the different skills, attitudes and knowledge relevant to the development of the 12 sustainability competences. It will help you to self-assess which elements you already have and which you might want to learn. We have identified 64 relevant elements, some of which will appear in random combinations in the survey. So each time you take the survey, the results will vary slightly, expanding on the items you encounter. It is not intended to be a complete assessment of your level of competence. Check it out > https://sdprofile.eu/en Elisava Research team: Isabel Ordoñez, Adele Orcajada DiGiacomo, Anastasia Pistofidou. #ElisavaResearch #Conference #SustainableDevelopment #TEACH4SD #Education

What is needed for your industrial sector to become more sustainable? Which competencies and which profiles do we need? And are there any competencies missing to become more sustainable? These and other questions were posed in the focus groups that were carried out by Odisee, Syntra Midden-Vlaanderen and CEO's 4 Climate for the project TEACH4SD - Lead the transition. In the picture below, you see these partners after a productive meeting, discussing the results of the Belgian focus groups. The next step is to bring the results of each of the partner countries together. VIA University College, ELISAVA Research, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași, and Hogeschool Saxion, we are looking forward to seeing the collective results! PS: If anyone has any suggestions on the questions above, feel free to comment below! #Teach4SD #ESD #CompetenciesOfTheFuture #CenSE #OnderzoekOdisee #odisee

Let's make an IMP>ACT together! 💫 This #HorizonEurope project aims to understand what learners truly gain from Sustainability and Climate Change Education (SCCE) and how it shapes their mindsets and actions. Over the next four years, this project will focus on developing the IMP>ACT assessment framework aiming to delve deep into the impact of Sustainability and Climate Change Education. The framework will focus on #ActionCompetence as the key learning outcome of these educations and on #ActionOrientation as an approach to the quality of educational policies and practices across Europe. By bridging the gap in understanding and providing evidence-based insights, IMP>ACT aims to empower decision-makers in steering the course toward a more sustainable future. Tier II Research Chair in Accessible Interaction Design/ Director SaTS Lab/ Co-Lead Training Committee, CFREF Connected Minds Associate Professor - Interaction Design
UNITAR International University and CIFAL York are organizing a series of talks on Unboxing the SDGs for People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership starting in May 2024. I will be presenting a talk on 'Life-centred Design: Sustainability, Interaction Design, and AI' on 22nd July 2024. The talk is based on the new course I will be teaching in Fall 2024. The talk will introduce principles of life-centred design that encompasses not just people, but the planet we live on. It will discuss how disciplinary knowledge can drive innovation for sustainable solutions in alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Humanity-centred design, based on the principle that we need to design not only for humans but also for the systems that we live in, can identify solutions to large and complex socio-technical problems. New design paradigms have seen the emergence of new design areas such as behaviour change, disruptive design, Transition design, etc. which are crucial to address the world's most significant issues. At the start of the DEI4SME kick-off meeting at University of Vaasa, we had a look at sustainability frameworks and the regulatory architecture of the European Union. How do frameworks, directives, and standards affect the need for SMEs to disclose sustainability, and how should #diversity, #equity, and #inclusion be linked not only to the need for disclosure but to natural integration into business processes? Project partners: University of Vaasa (Finland), Room466 by WKO Steiermark (Austria), Technology Centre Merinova Oy (Finland), IHK-Projektgesellschaft mbH Ostbrandenburg (Germany), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), and ENTER Educators Professional Development (ENTER Network, Austria)

Let's explore the #ErasmusPlus Teacher Academies for sustainability education! 🌱📚 This time, its the Academy for Sustainable Future Educators (EduSTA). EduSTAR (https://lnkd.in/epC6Rzfp) brings an innovative approach to operationalising teachers’ sustainability competencies. EduSTAR responds to the competencies needs created by the European Green Deal by creating Digital Open Badges, a type of microcredential for teachers to earn and acquire. Each badge represents one of the four sustainability competencies identified by the project: Sustainability literacy, Reflexive Practice, Learning Ecosystem Design, and Enabling Action, with 9 sub-badges within each. EduSTAR supports teachers to acquire these microcredentials by designing and gathering learning resources and piloting educational design, and also offers different learning pathways for teachers depending on their prior skills and experience. By earning all sub-badges, a teacher will earn the Metabadge, for which EduSTAR expects approximately 300 teachers to acquire this year. Want to get involved? 🌱 Stay up-to-date with their upcoming events: https://lnkd.in/eVU8VGUj 🌱 Learn more about Digital Open Badges with the repository of useful info: https://lnkd.in/eYy8n4Sv 🌱 And check out some of their previous webinars here: https://lnkd.in/eVZ-qB7p

Exciting News from the Future of Education for Sustainability 🌍 We're thrilled to announce that our "sustainED: Education Network for Sustainable Futures" project has received significant funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung ) under the "SDG Partnerships" program. 🤝 sustainED aims to embed sustainability across all aspects of higher education in collaboration with our long-standing strategic partners in Brazil: Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR), Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), and our new partner Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUCPR). From 2024 to 2027, this initiative will focus on developing modular training and further education offerings in sustainability for management and engineering fields, particularly in the context of emerging countries. 🎓 sustainED is structured around three pillars: knowledge transfer, awareness raising, and practical projects, with a special emphasis on teaching and student engagement. Through collaborations with associated practice and policy partners in Germany and Brazil, and innovative teaching events like the "sustainED Practice" Summer Schools, Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt aims to foster a comprehensive understanding of sustainability, including perspectives from emerging countries. 🔍 Join us as in this project for a greener, more sustainable future and education! 🌿💡 Contact: Prof. Dr. Holger Hoppe More information: https://lnkd.in/emWkQHi9 #sustainability #education #innovation #sustainED #DAAD #SDGPartnerships #THI
