SCZONE signs 4 Framework agreements worth Eur 31,4 Bn during The Egyptian – EU Investment Conference for Green Ammonia production On the second day of the Egyptian-EU Investment Conference, held in Cairo under the patronage of H.E the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the President of the European Commission, which raises the slogan "Unleashing Egyptian Potential in a Rapidly Changing World", Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity, and Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, witnessed the signing ceremony of 4 projects for green ammonia production within the Sokhna and East Port Said integrated zones of #SCZONE, with a total investment of 31.4 billion euros, and an estimated annual production volume of 6 million and 241 thousand tons of green ammonia. The first framework agreement signed by the consortium includes BP Hydrogen, Masdar Green Hydrogen, Hassan Allam Utilities, and Infinity Power Holding, to produce 2.83 mn tons/year of green ammonia with a total investment of 13.5 billion euros. The second framework agreement was signed with Ocior Energy Holding to produce green ammonia, with a total investment of 3.9 billion euros, and an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of green ammonia, and commercial operations are expected to commence by the fourth quarter of 2029. The initial phase has a production capacity of 900,000 tons/year of green ammonia and is expected to commence commercial operations by Q4 of 2031. The third framework agreement was signed with the consortium of TAQA Arabia and VOLTALIA, worth €3.8 billion. It aims to establish a project to produce green ammonia in the Sokhna zone in two phases. The pilot phase has an annual production capacity of 355.7 thousand tons of green ammonia, with commercial operations expected to commence by Q4 of 2030.
