Yet, some of us remain steadfast in our belief that diversity matters. Today, we celebrate the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples and raise awareness about the diverse and vibrant communities of Indigenous Peoples across the 🌎. Indigenous Peoples live in every region of the world, owning, occupying, or using approximately 22% of the Earth's land. With a population of 370-500 million, they represent a significant portion of the world's cultural diversity. It is essential that we embrace and accept every individual within our community, regardless of their culture, background, or identity. By fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect, we not only celebrate the richness of our diverse cultures but also strengthen the bonds that unite us. Recognising and valuing the unique experiences, challenges, and perspectives of Indigenous individuals—and remaining culturally aware and empathetic—can have a profound positive impact on the mental health and well-being of Indigenous Peoples within our community. When we create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and appreciated, we contribute to a more compassionate and equitable society.
