I attended today's Scrum.org webcast, "Moving to an Agile Product Operating Model - Evidence Based Approach to Delivering Products in the Digital Age." It was a great session focused on how organizations can leverage an Agile Product Operating Model to thrive in the fast-paced digital world. Here are some key takeaways that resonated with me: - The Need for Agility: The digital age demands constant adaptation. Traditional, heavyweight product development models struggle to keep pace. - The Agile Product Operating Model: This framework emphasizes evidence-based decision making, transparency, and empiricism. It empowers teams to deliver value iteratively and respond quickly to changing market needs. - Benefits of the Model: Reduced uncertainty, minimized risk, and increased likelihood of delivering successful products that meet customer needs. - Focus on Evidence-Based Management (EBM): Data-driven decisions based on inspection and adaptation throughout the development process. - Key Value Areas (KVAs): Using EBM, organizations can identify and focus on KVA's, which represent the goals, current state, responsiveness, and innovation capability related to delivering value. - Organizational Design and Culture: The success of an Agile Product Operating Model depends on fostering an agile culture that supports self-organization and continuous improvement. Overall, the session provided valuable insights into how organizations can transform their product development processes to be more agile and deliver greater value in the digital age.

I help companies succeed with agile product management and innovation - Product Trainer CPIT, Scrum CST, SAFe SPC
Companies that fail in adopting Agile practices often lack an essential ingredient: Product Thinking. Without Product Thinking, Agile becomes just a way to slice work into increments, but everything else stays the same. So if we keep building products the same way, how do we expect results to differ? Yes, we may deliver a new product faster, but is it the RIGHT product? Do our customers care? Does the product deliver on the job the customers expect? I hope this article helps! https://lnkd.in/gF89CsDM #productdevelopment #productthinking #agile #agiletransformation #sparkengine

There is something missing in #agile: strategy, vision. Smart #roadmaps focus on value, embrace learning, rally the organization, and get customers to buy in. https://buff.ly/3YXu5U8 #ProductCulture #ProductManagement

Changing #Agile: "These days, agile is essentially the law of the land if you’re in product management.... But the resulting emphasis on sprints and short-term planning can lead to a lack of a larger product vision. It's also often incompatible with the longer planning cycles of enterprise customers and partners.".. https://buff.ly/2WkRSRz #ProductCulture #ProductManagement

In engineering development (and life), big goals are nice but more difficult to achieve. This poster uses these 2 images to show different approaches at development. Notice how long the first image takes to get any return on investment. It's important to create a path to the goal in achievable steps that can be capitalized or celebrated along the way.

I found this image a few years ago and always keep it in my pocket when trying to explain what an actual "MVP" is to leaders and peers. Most think of agile methodology like the first row, slowly developing and iterating each component of the "final product" until the customer or end user can utilize what they actually asked for. But we should all be focused on the second row - What's the fastest/simplest usable thing I can deliver that focuses on the needs of the customer? Focusing on the underlying need of “I need to get from A to B faster”, row 2 gets to the "Fastest Testable Product", and allows you to iterate.

"The Agile Methodology isn't just a process; it's a mindset that encourages flexibility, collaboration, and customer feedback in product development. As we adopt Agile practices, remember it's about more than just rapid iterations; it's about creating a culture where every team member has a voice and every update is driven by user value. How has Agile impacted your projects? Let’s discuss. 🔄🔁 #AgileMindset #ProductManagement #TeamDynamics"
