Chief Operating Officer at Abu Dhabi Distribution Company

Introducing the Falcon Initiative! This is a drone inspection program developed by TAQA Group and ADDC with our partners FEDS Drone-powered Solutions - and it’s delivering value for Abu Dhabi customers. Equipped with corona and thermal imagery cameras to supplement high resolution photography, the Falcon Initiative combines high tech with high skills to take a bird’s-eye view of our assets, identifying issues that traditional inspection processes miss. We’ve had a great deal of success, identifying over 30% more defects and enabling efficient repairs before a more costly failure occurs. This will help us to stay ahead of the curve and keep our electrical network reliable and resilient! #Innovation #Drones #AssetManagement

Brilliant idea Scott Ryan, the same was implemented at Transgrid and the running project won the Asset Management Cost, Risk, Performance Award for using drones for transmission line maintenance inspections. More than 2000 out of 6500 towers and structures were inspected by drones so far. It’s not only about reducing maintainance cost and getting better resolution images for the assets conditions over time. It’s also about improving the workers safety and having less impact over the community through less access required to private properties to do the inspections.

Great step. In discoms in india use drones for checking our transmission lines which are in forest area. Drones are equipped with thermal and high resolution cameras which help in themal imaging of transmission lines.

Great.! such technology having drone for patrolling of Transimission and distribution line to monitor is a key element for inspection of Line losses and line faults and a cheap individual not a team having car to inspect Transimmion and distribution line. Alot of benefits
