What makes Rutgers New Brunswick a unique and innovative ecosystem? 1️⃣ History: Rutgers New Brunswick is the oldest university in New Jersey and the eighth oldest public university in the United States. It was founded in 1766 as Queen's College(in honor of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the wife of King George III of England) and it has a rich history of academic excellence and innovation. For example, Rutgers was the first university in the United States to offer a degree in electrical engineering (1876) and the first to develop a successful polio vaccine (1948). 2️⃣ Reputation for Innovation: Rutgers New Brunswick is primarily known for its innovations in biotech and life science. In recent years, researchers at Rutgers made major breakthroughs in the fight against COVID-19, including the development of a new vaccine and a number of other innovative projects. 3️⃣ Exciting Future: Rutgers New Brunswick is poised for even greater innovation in the years to come. The university is home to the HELIX project, a $1 billion initiative to create a world-class research and innovation hub in New Brunswick. The HELIX project will bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, and businesses from all over the world to collaborate on new ideas and solutions to some of the world's most pressing problems. In addition to its history of innovation, Rutgers New Brunswick also has a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. It was an honor to have been invited by OLC Accelerate to join the conversation around “new models for scholarship and partnership.” Honor’s own Jeremy Dean, VP of Learning Design, led a panel with fellow industry experts Cristi Ford (of D2L) and Brian Verdine (of Yellowdig) to explore how to transform the often transactional relationship between academia and ed-tech, using research as one of many catalysts to do so. As Jeremy aptly stated, “we need to move away from a linear model for ed-tech and collaborate more frequently and closely to identify problems together, co-design solutions, and evaluate impact.” We look forward to continuing the conversation! https://lnkd.in/dU2tgCn6

Over the past year, KSTC expanded programming for Kentucky’s entrepreneurial community, while remaining committed to supporting the three pillar’s of Kentucky’s innovation-driven economy: research-driven products and services, access to capital, and talent. We’ve also been collaborating to ensure Kentucky is well-positioned to compete for an increasing number of federal funding opportunities through partnerships such as the Metals Innovation Initiative (MI2), development of the Kentucky Science & Technology Plan: Vision 2030, and major projects such as the Additive Manufacturing Forward Engine (one of only 16 national finalists in the NSF Regional Innovation Engines competition) and GAME Change Engine (awarded a $1M development grant by the NSF). We invite you to read more about these projects and updates from our core initiatives in our FY23 Impact Report. We’ll be sharing additional highlights in the coming weeks to recognize the impact made by all of our teams: AdvanceKentucky, Kentucky Commercialization Ventures, Kentucky Intellectual Property Alliance (KYIPA), Kentucky Science & Engineering Foundation, Kentucky's Innovation Hubs, Keyhorse Capital, Kentucky APEX Accelerator and KY VALOR.

Our application deadline for the new EWOR Fellowship cohorts is June 3rd. If you want to be part of a peer group of expectational founders who all have the potential to build the next generation of tech companies with a global impact, apply now at 👉https://ewor.com/apply If you know someone who might be a good fit for EWOR please nominate at 👉 https://lnkd.in/d7h6b9YC At EWOR, we are NOT interested in founders focused on "first world problems" or those that are working only on incremental improvements to existing problems. At EWOR, we support nerds, rebels, and visionaries in building the next generation of impactful tech companies. These range from people developing innovative storage solutions for renewable energy (Jorgen Tveit), finding a cure for cancer (Elijah Mojares), to those engaged in AI-based drug discovery for new molecules to extend human lifespan (Alexander Dakhovnik), and building software to enable a faster transition to a net-zero emissions world (Daniela Heil). #startups

I'll be at ELRIG UK next week in Liverpool for the Drug Discovery 2023 Conference on the 18th and 19th of October. It's going to be a fantastic 2 days and am looking forward to the discussions. I'm really excited to showcase the dragonfly® discovery at our Synthace booth C23 and run live demos of how Synthace interacts with the dragonfly, but also right next to us at C24 is SPT Labtech where you'll see their fantastic firefly® But let me share with you the reasons why I'm really enthusiastic about the dragonfly, especially for assay development: 👉 It's incredibly user-friendly. Setting up your reagents in reservoirs is a breeze. Cleaning is simple and thanks to the use of disposable tips, contamination concerns are virtually non-existent 🦠 👉 It has 10 independent channels and lightning-fast dispensing, therefore it's capable of filling a 1536 plate in just 90 seconds! This device is a game-changer for assay development and DoE. 👉 And what truly sets the Dragonfly apart is its liquid-class-agnostic nature. Its remarkable technology allows it to handle any liquid type and automatically adjust for viscosity and other liquid properties 💧 If you're curious about how SPT Labtech and Synthace make space-filling DoE experiments possible for assay development then drop by our booth to see it live in action. #labautomation #elrig #drugdiscovery #dd2023 #doe
