"When God Says Go, (And You Say, ''No')" - Jonah 1:1-17; 2:1-3; The 18 min. video message only from this week's broadcast of A Fresh Start. This message is from the first sermon I preached on Nov. 9, 2008 the Sunday after I left a pastorate, where I had served for 6 and a half years, and planned to stay at until my 70th birthday in May 2021. It was a major defining moment in my life. God had other plans for me, and a few months later I formed Back To The Basics Ministries and began airing A Fresh Start TV Program. I knew from reading about the life of Jonah, and what happens when you initially say "No" to God, the results can be disastrous. This 1st of 3 parts of that sermon deals with what happened to Jonah when he intentionally disobeyed the call of God for his life. www.drbobbymullins.com “WHEN GOD SAYS GO” (JONAH 1:1-2:3) I. WHEN GOD SAYS “GO” AND YOU SAY “NO” 1. YOU ARE IN DISOBEDIENCE AND DESERVE THE JUDGMENT OF GOD - vv. 1:1-2 2. THE ONLY WAY TO GO IS DOWN AND YOU EITHER DISABLE OR DESTROY YOUR PERSONAL TESTIMONY FOR CHRIST - vv. 1:3-5 3. YOUR DISOBEDIENCE EITHER DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY HAS A NEGATIVE IMPACT UPON OTHERS AND CAN HAVE AN ENDANGERING EFFECT UPON THEM - vv. 1;4-12 4. THERE ARE DARK, DIFFICULT, DISABLING, AND DISTRESSFUL DAYS AWAITING YOU AND YOU FEEL A SENSE OF DEFEAT - vv. 1:16-2:3

What a beautiful quote, Kelly! It's a powerful reminder that compassion and loving kindness have an incredible strength that knows no boundaries. In today's fast-paced and sometimes disconnected world, it's so important to cultivate these qualities in both our personal and professional lives. When we approach others with compassion, we not only create more meaningful connections but also have the ability to make a positive impact on their lives. Whether it's a simple act of kindness or genuinely listening to someone in need, these small gestures can go a long way. In the context of business, showing compassion towards our customers, employees, and colleagues can lead to greater loyalty, trust, and collaboration. It allows us to understand their needs and concerns better, leading to improved customer experiences and stronger team dynamics. Moreover, practicing loving kindness towards ourselves is equally vital. Self-compassion helps us navigate challenges with resilience and fosters a healthier work-life balance. By treating ourselves with kindness and understanding, we can prevent burnout and maintain a positive.........
