SD Represented at the NJ State-of-the-State Manufacturing Summit Joe Dotzman, VP of Manufacturing and Site Services, and Claudine D’Angelo, Marketing & Communication Specialist, recently attended the State-of-the-Sate Manufacturing Summit at the NJ Statehouse in Trenton. The event, sponsored jointly by NJBIA (NJ Business & Industry Association) and NJMEP (NJ Manufacturing Extension Program) brought together NJ manufacturing industry leaders, state legislators, and business executives to discuss the industry’s most critical issues. In addition to networking with business leaders and legislators, attendees were brought up to date on business concerns, trends, and initiatives that impact manufacturing across the organization. Discussions about sustainability initiatives and government support for manufacturers to execute these projects featured prominently. D'Angelo noted, “It is important for SD to be a part of the solution and work with other manufacturers and legislators to achieve Triple Bottom Line Goals (People, Planet, and Profit) that would be difficult to accomplish as individual companies.” “Meeting with state leaders through this event was a valuable experience”, said Dotzman, “It enabled us to talk about SD and SABIC and our importance to the NJ economy. We engaged on topics such as the negative impact of proposed higher state business taxes, and the need for training programs to develop a strong pool of skilled labor for New Jersey manufacturers. These and other current issues that were discussed are all important to SD. It was great to make connections with key officials.” #njmep, #njbia, #scidesign, #manufacturingcounts

Entering the world of manufacturing has opened my eyes to its immense potential. The sector has shown me that with the right team and a passion for innovation, we can create beautiful products and deliver exceptional services. Despite being one of the most underrated industries in our country, manufacturing holds the key to transforming our present and shaping a better future. It’s encouraging to see the government now recognizing this and working to address some of the challenges. However, there’s still much to be done, and I look forward to sharing more thoughts on this in upcoming posts. https://metfab.org.in

I am pleased to be associated with, and to recommend, this excellent report on the future of UK manufacturing. Engineering and Machinery Alliance #manufacturing #investment #growth #policy #SMEs #supplychain
Recent announcements from UK government during the Autumn Statement, including the Advanced Manufacturing Plan, show a positive step change in approach to manufacturing. The £4.5 billion of funding towards strategic manufacturing sectors, starting in 2025/26, has the potential to reinvigorate UK manufacturing and springboard further development of the sector. With a collaborative effort from government, academia and industry, the UK has the opportunity to position itself as the envy of our European neighbours within manufacturing. Now is the time for the UK to define the short- and long-term strategy, challenge existing norms, and create more agile and resilient supply chains. This paper highlights the steps necessary to make that a reality. #Manufacturing #AdvancedManufacturing #AutumnStatement2023 #SpringBudget2024 https://lnkd.in/eyfqX4tm

Driving the competitive edge that keeps SA’s manufacturing sector on the world stage With goals to open ‘unparalleled opportunity’, the South Australian government’s Advanced Manufacturing Strategy is set to make the state’s manufacturing sector the global partner of choice. The South Australian Government recently set out its plan to leverage the state’s competitive advantages in manufacturing to drive ongoing economic transformation. The government’s Advanced Manufacturing Strategy aims to capture an “unparalleled opportunity” to make the state’s manufacturing sector the global partner of choice. The strategy aims to promote advanced technologies to mitigate South Australia’s historical challenges of cost, scale, and distance to markets. It also strives to increase value-added exports and position the industry for the next phase of technology and data-driven change as Industry 5.0 emerges. At a CommBank-hosted event held in Adelaide, manufacturers, customers, and market participants gathered to discuss their role in driving the strategy forward. Iconic beverage manufacturer, Bickford’s Australia and cutting-edge space technology manufacturer, Fleet Space Technologies represented the local sector. CommBank’s National Manager of Manufacturing, Maria Christina, says South Australia’s manufacturing industry has already demonstrated its global leadership, providing a launchpad to expand. #manufacturing #manufacturingnews Commonwealth Bank Fleet Space Technologies Bickford's Group of Companies https://lnkd.in/g8VSJNEM
