PrideVMC Spotlight: Meet Revi Britton, They/She/He, MBA, Fear Free Certified, Cat Friendly Veterinary Advocate Certified!
🐾Your role in #vetmed?
VCA Animal Hospitals Peninsula Hospital Manager
👌🏾Why is proactively sharing pronouns (eg on email sigs, zoom profiles, stethoscope clips, etc) important?
I think it gives a sense of openness, safety, and acceptance to everyone we talk to.
🏳️⚧️In what way have you been impacted by the current unprecedented and horrific anti-LGBTQ legislation and rhetoric?
A sense of fear and anxiety has washed over me, like the life I have created for myself hangs in the balance and can be taken at any moment. I feel forced to prepare for financial instability despite being in a very stable position currently.
🏳️🌈Why are #Pride activities important to you? I feel like the more awareness we put out in the world, the more we are seen, and the more comfortable people become with differences.
💪🏿💪🏾💪🏻In what way do you think allies are important to any marginalized group?
Strength in numbers. Allies can make our differences more comfortable, accepted, and stronger for others who are ignorant or only tolerant. Learning is vitally important to our survival and allies can help spread that awareness.
💗Favorite #quote?
There is a difference between tolerance and acceptance. One is backed by hate, the other backed by love. If you can't tell which is which, you should look inside yourself to find out why. ~Myself
💡Anything else you would like to share?
I identity as Non-binary, Panromantic, Aceflux
