Today I brought up our sales department - they come to the office in shorts, T-shirts, sneakers... Sales are appropriate, there are no meetings with clients. I operate on the principle: 1 teach, 2 treat, 3 fired. Out of 8м$ of closed deals in 6 months: I closed 4,5m$ 1,75m$ our agents 1,75m$ our sales department. The plan for the year costs 34m$ , we are behind, I am dissatisfied, but for now I am “treating”... And at the same time I am building the strongest international marketing department, there will be more leads - it will not be possible to shift responsibility for weak results. An ideal marketing department product (in our case, strong analytics 📈) in my opinion makes sales efforts unnecessary. I have recently delivered a consulting session and a sales training in a B2B company distributing premium medical equipment for clinics and wellness centers here in Dubai. The main pain points that had been highlighted to me prior to the activities: 😕 Potential customers reluctant to replace their equipment with more modern and newer models. 😏 Customers keen to purchase the same types of equipment that are present in the market, and the market is lagging behind the best world practices. 😣 Customers disappear after hearing product presentations. ⚠️ Revenue targets at risk. 💰 Here are only a few of the bottlenecks that were identified during my work with the company: 👬Sales people were acting according to an algorithm where there was no sufficient room for establishing a proper contact and building trust with a customer, while local culture absolutely requires that. 🤔 Product presentations were delivered almost immediately after the first touch with a client, without a prior stage of unlocking the customer needs. Hence the presentations were not tailored. ✍️ Sales people were not properly equipped with the scripts for handling objections, and other scripts. Sales check-lists were also missing. 🎯 Objectives setting was either missing or did not take into account the customer world. 🫡 Commercial offer was forwarded at the first prompting.
