Through the summer this year I took the opportunity to connect with a few industry leaders and subject matter experts to hear their thoughts on luxury and luxury hospitality. Each fireside chat was an opportunity to pause and reflect as we look ahead. Here's a conversation with Selina Neri, PhD, a highly regarded Corporate Academic and Professor of Leadership and Corporate Governance. An advocate for developing robust business strategies underpinned by data and research, she has a particular interest in luxury and is a champion for academic research in the sector. During this thought-provoking discussion, she shares valuable insights and key takeaways for consideration. My first GMM with SoDA: The Digital Society this week in Mexico City. Processing all the new friends, learnings, and memorable moments. Agencies are a special bunch. It takes a certain kind of person to live that agency life ~ It is tough! But it can also be so rewarding, creative, and full of possibility. Top things I am leaving with from these few days: It has been a tough year for most. Requiring deep resilience and adaptability. The new creative work being generated is mind blowing. Sustainable design, AI influenced work, and breaking into the real world with community building in physical spaces Leaders deeply want to support their teams in meaningful ways, so they really need to take the time to take care of themselves so they can show up the way they want. There are so many demands or ideas on benefits their teams want (offices, remote, hybrid, 4 day work weeks, retreats, unlimited PTO, flexibility, high salaries, creative and inspiring work, etc etc etc). Companies can't do it all! Gotta decide what meets your values and lean into those. And so much more.
