Community advisory councils are often required (by funders or government regulators), or added on when projects don't achieve expected outcomes. Having a highly effective community engagement model is rare and difficult to accomplish. Here's one example of several stakeholders coming together to make it happen.

By providing weekend meals to students who lose their subsidized meals offered during the school week, HopeAustin ensures the brightest future for our children and the broader community by ensuring children have every opportunity to learn and thrive without hunger. HopeAustin provides meals for 95 schools, 4600 students per week and over 110,000 meals per month in Central Texas! Research shows that children who suffer from food insecurity are more likely to have lower math scores and repeat a grade, among other challenges in areas like language, motor skills, and behavior. Children need nutrients so they can grow, develop, and focus on learning instead of thinking about the food they need. Where children face food insecurity in Austin and the surrounding area, HopeAustin steps in to end childhood hunger one child and one meal at a time, ensuring our kids at risk of hunger are equipped to reach their full potential. I designed the annual report for Children's Peace Project! Take a peak😃 https://lnkd.in/ew43GUEZ So grateful for this nonprofit and its dedication to supporting #education in low-resourced areas. CPP has given me the opportunity to continue my late aunt's work in improving education for Haiti's most vulnerable youth while remaining engaged with a community that means so much to me. In the health financing courses I attended while completing my master's in #globalhealth, we often spoke about the poverty cycle, it's connection to education, and it's role in perpetuating poor health and economic outcomes -- both at community/national and individual levels. True to it's circular nature, it can be difficulty to know which factors to target in order to improve conditions. However, there are centuries' worth of evidence that speak to the power of formal education in uplifting the individual and their communities. While chronic mismanagement has and continues to threaten the future of Haiti's youth, CPP provides hope to those who need it the most. Students at our partner school are aiming to be future teachers, health providers, lawyers, agronomists, mechanics. This is what #capacitybuilding looks like, and I can't wait to see what they all accomplish!

Feed My Starving Children/CGI Plymouth Meeting PA Office On May 17th, an event that will resonate in the hearts of many took place, thanks to the organizational prowess of John Blazosky. In a remarkable display of community and corporate synergy, team members united with our client and other vendor partners at Del Val University. Our collective aim? To strike a blow against the scourge of hunger affecting children across the globe. The day was marked by an atmosphere of hope and determination. Together, we channeled our efforts into a cause greater than ourselves, transforming despair into hope and hunger into satisfaction. The results of our collaboration were nothing short of inspiring: 433 Boxes Packed 93,528 Meals Provided 256 Children will now have meals every day for an entire year. These numbers are not just statistics; they represent lives touched, futures brightened, and the spirit of humanity at its best. Did You Know? Hunger claims the lives of nearly half of all children under 5 years old worldwide. It’s a harrowing reality that underscores the importance of initiatives like ours. The impact of our event is a testament to what can be achieved when we come together for a common cause. As we reflect on our success, let’s carry forward the momentum. The fight against child hunger is ongoing, and it’s a battle we are committed to. Let’s continue to make a difference, one meal, one child at a time.
