In Sudan, nearly 5 million children have been forcibly displaced, torn from their homes by the relentless conflict. These young lives, once filled with hope and stability, are now marked by uncertainty and fear. Over 14 million children in Sudan urgently require humanitarian assistance, struggling to survive in dire conditions with limited access to food, clean water, shelter, and education.The scale of this crisis is staggering, but each of these numbers represents a child with dreams, potential, and the right to a safe and nurturing environment. At the risk of seemingly taking away from the gravity of what is happening on a humanitarian level in Gaza today, I feel the need to share my thoughts on this too as someone researching grassroots efforts in the MENA and their contributions to the UNSDGs. 🇱🇧I feel like a hypocrite reading the reports on the environmental and economical damage that the farms and the farmers in the South of Lebanon have endured in the past few months. It was only in September that I was full of optimism about the growing interest in the MENA in agriculture for food security and sustainability despite the economic challenges. Along with local and regional funds these projects are also supported by international donors from 🇪🇸🇫🇷🇺🇸🇳🇱 🇺🇳🇨🇭🇬🇧 🇪🇺. Although I am grateful that Australia 🇦🇺 has donated to assist with the displacement of the farmers from the South of Lebanon, I find it hard not to wonder!!! How exactly do the ‘super powers’ of the world call for and fund efforts to achieve the SDGs while at the same time support or even allow war and destruction as well as the use of White phosphorus which is an illegal weapon? Isn’t all this a futile viscous circle? Wouldn’t it be better if we didn’t destroy and used the money to build a harmonious developed and healthier world rather than constantly rebuilding? Just thoughts going through my ‘naive’ mind nowadays as I try to keep a lid on my anxiety and worry about my family in Lebanon, along with my disillusionment and disappointment at the state of our world today💔! #harmony #peaceandjusticeforall #unsdgs #hope #warisfutile #humanity #wecandobetter #thougtleadership

Our #team at Elzeever & Company recently conducted a field visit to an IDP camp in the Nuba Mountains to conduct a comprehensive assessment of humanitarian #aid delivery. The stark realities of displacement were evident as we met with a #beneficiary in her temporary shelter. These firsthand encounters are crucial for understanding the true impact of our interventions and identifying areas for improvement. Meeting with beneficiaries face-to-face offers invaluable #insights into the challenges faced by those affected by the crisis. We carefully examined the distribution of essential supplies and the overall #impact of #humanitarian #interventions. Our findings will be instrumental in informing evidence-based recommendations to improve aid effectiveness.
