It is a philosophy and practice in the field of healthcare that views a person as a whole organism, where physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being are interconnected and influence each other. The holistic approach assumes that to achieve optimal health and well-being, all aspects of a person's life need to be taken into account. This may include physical health, emotional state, social environment, spiritual sphere, life values, and beliefs. "Digital well-being is a term that refers to the impact of digital technologies on our physical and mental health, as well as our social and emotional well-being. It is about finding a balance between the benefits and drawbacks of using digital devices, such as smartphones, computers, and tablets, in our daily lives. Some of the benefits of digital technologies include: - They can help us connect with others, access information, learn new skills, and express ourselves creatively. - They can also provide entertainment, relaxation, and fun. - They can support our personal and professional goals, such as managing our finances, organizing our schedules, or pursuing our hobbies. Some of the drawbacks of digital technologies include: - They can distract us from our tasks, reduce our productivity, and impair our focus and attention. - They can also expose us to negative or harmful content, such as cyberbullying, misinformation, or violence. - They can affect our sleep quality, physical activity, and eye health. - They can also create stress, anxiety, depression, or addiction. To improve our digital well-being, we need to be aware of how we use digital technologies and how they affect us. We also need to set boundaries and limits on our digital use and engage in healthy digital behaviors.
