India's biggest sport just became global. Cricket, after 128 years, has become a part of the Olympics. The 2028 Olympics is going to have cricket as a sport to be played, and none other than Virat Kohli is the poster boy for it. We are currently seeing brands spend upwards of 2000 cr on the World Cup'23, and it couldn't be better. Mostly, the sport has been dominated by 6-7 countries, but with so many upcoming countries like the Netherlands, Afghanistan, UAE, Nepal, Namibia, etc, coming in, it is a matter of time before we see 15-20 teams competing. Olympics approval is a great move in that direction. If we look at top scorers or match winners of India and Australia, we will find that while India was heavily relying on five batsman only, Australia was producing different match winner in every game, like a trump card. If bowlers have to make strategy against the opponent's batsmen, they focus on star or in-form batsman and become easy to chock him. But if you have no single star in the team, or in other words, everybody is star, then whom the bowlers will target? In the game of equals. you need more than just talent. Strategy, Mind games, and Reading real-time conditions creates huge different in match results. That's why India won so many ICC trophies during Dhoni era. Team India didn't have best players of all time but best captain of all times. Leader is more important than extra-ordinary talent, who can produce extra-ordinary results of average talent pool. Australia and Dhoni have proven this point several times, during World Cups and IPL.
