Our Rodeo Contestant Hospitality does their absolute best taking care of our contestants during their run at San Antonio Rodeo. Being on the road all year is hard, but having a good meal can be the piece of home our contestants need. Thank you to our incredible group of Contestant Hospitality Meal Donors, who made it possible to feed our contestants and their families every day!

Successful Development Professionals are methodical and strategic. We don’t rush (except when we’re under a deadline for a gala or something), instead taking a slow and steady approach to our work. When Development Professionals rush, mistakes happen and donations are lost! We’re planners. We think ahead, sometimes waaaay ahead. At one org I worked at, I had the date set and booked for our annual golf tournament 3 years in advance!! And I drove the president crazy when I insisted we start looking for our next honorees, the day after our last dinner (actually 2 days because I always took time to recharge the day after our major gala). So, when people complain that we move like sloths, it’s not because we don’t know what we’re doing; it’s because we know precisely what we’re doing and working through it the way it needs to be done to be as effective as we know it will be!

Yea it’s a five minute video, who watches those anymore! However, if you followed us over the course of Serve Week 2024 (The Ocho) this is an awesome wrap up and great work by the team. We try and use LinkedIn to open a window into our culture. And while Foundry Commercial isn’t perfect and we will always have work to do in pursuit of our standards, I think this is one of the things we get really right. We are a services company and spending time with these amazing organizations, which we encourage you to check out and support, reminds us what true service looks like. It is a week where we try to give back and we always end up getting so much more than we give. Great job Lauren and the entire Serve Week support team. #foundrycommercial #itspersonal #theocho #serveweek2024

I work with fundraising leaders to help quiet the chaos, define clear development strategies and achieve sustained revenue results. Classical music geek. 🎻🎶
Development Professionals are not sloths. We do however move very methodically and strategically I’m order to achieve long-term success. Some more thoughts on this below.

"...They offer you a bag of hygiene items. You notice that the bags are a little different this time. They contain nail clippers that you desperately need." Sometimes when families volunteer, like when packing hygiene kits, they can't immediately see the impact on the other person. Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at Water For Good | Master of Public Health Student at the University of Arkansas | Programs Intern at Havenwood
When I am thirsty, I turn on the water faucet in my kitchen and fill up a glass. I don't boil, strain, or treat it - I can drink it immediately without a second thought because our city water is maintained and regularly tested. Everywhere I go, safe bathrooms are available. Sinks with soap and water are available at each one. I have never had a waterborne illness from consuming unsafe water. I don't have to think much about safe water, sanitation, and hygiene in my daily life. But for people in Lifewater's program areas, water, sanitation, and hygiene are every day challenges. Not only do community members (often women and children) walk or bike miles to gather water, but they get sick frequently because their only available water is contaminated. As someone who sees the data every day, I can tell you with confidence that Lifewater is permanently changing lives and entire communities for the better. My goal is to raise $1,000 by October 7, when I will join Lifewater in biking 30 miles in the Square to Square race. We bike to remember our friends in our Tanzanian program, who often strap jerry cans to their bikes to collect unsafe water from long distances. Help me reach my goal! Just $5 provides someone with safe water, sanitation, and hygiene for one month. Click on the link below! https://lnkd.in/g6NfMdt4
