🏠 The True Insight in Healthcare: A 911 Call (The Wall Street Journal /UnitedHealth Group ) 🚑 When it comes to truly understanding a patient's living situation, there's no substitute for the insight gained during a 911 call. At that moment, patients are at their most vulnerable, seeking health and inviting us into their homes to grasp the full picture. 🔍 In recent times, we've seen the rise of Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) companies attempting to gather information by calling or texting patients. However, there's an undeniable lack of trust and vulnerability in these interactions. It often feels like a stranger prying into personal matters, asking intrusive questions without establishing a genuine connection. 💡 Let's remember the power of compassion and empathy that a 911 call brings. It's an opportunity to provide care not just physically, but emotionally too.
