Such a tragic story but to me it highlights the need for VAD. Life can change so quickly as it did for Mark and every state should now follow NSW's lead on this. As individuals, we have the right to decide when enough is enough. Access to affordable healthcare is a struggle for many Americans, but the challenge can be even greater for people living in rural communities. Aaron E. Henry Community Health Services Center, Inc. is literally a lifeline for residents of the Mississippi Delta Region. Recognizing that clinical healthcare services contribute to just 20% of a person's overall health and wellbeing, the Center is leading the Region in establishing a Coordinated System of Care that will connect their patients to an array of social care services. The initiative is being supported by an array of funders and partners committed to addressing the specific rural healthcare needs including Clinton Global Initiative University, Direct Relief, Delta Population Health Institute, Southern Bancorp, and the University of Arkansas - Sam M. Walton College of Business. Watch the video to learn how AEH is expanding services and how it impacts the people receiving care. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gX46ensm #HealthEquity #RuralHealth #SystemofCare

Reminder: Colorado Assisted Living Residences should be revising their Resident Agreement ASAP. The newly revised Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment assisted living regulations require an update to their resident agreements. Perhaps most significant: the resident agreement must include reasons for involuntary discharge as well as the discharge procedures that comply with the new regs. Chapter 7, Section 11.6 "The written resident agreement shall specify the understanding between the parties concerning, at a minimum, the following items: . . .(G) Reasons that the assisted living residence could pursue an involuntary discharge of the resident, as listed in Parts 11.11 and 11.12."

Let's do the same for #Canadahealthact, #healthcare & #LTC. These are just as important as the greenbelt and what they mean for our future. Where are the Doctors, Medical Associations, College of Physicians, the Hospital CEOs etc. & most notably the Press? Are those in the medical profession afraid to speak up because of funding repercussions by the Ontario Government | Gouvernement de l’Ontario, or are they simply looking forward to the profits they could realize by privatizing healthcare in the Province? Is the press simply trying to focus on the "trees" in the forest, not the "forest"? NO PUN INTENDED! There is a bigger picture to consider. l would think that articles about the violations of #Canadahealthact, the successes of our public healthcare system, the funding starvation that is occuring in Ontario, the malignant effect of the private system on the availability and delivery of healthcare, and the many failures of the US system could keep our journalists busy for a very long time. l am pretty sure the concerned public would take note and pressure our politicians to do what is necessary and right. We should all be making the same amount of noise, if not more, on these issues. Changes in healthcare policy not only has an impact on us today, but our youth will experience even more of an impact as they reach the wisdom generation because the deficiencies of today will only be magnified in their future lifestyles. Caveat Emptor! We need to keep our priorities straight!
