#Sanitizing Gates: A Shield Against Germs for COVID-19 and Beyond The COVID-19 pandemic spurred a wave of innovation in hygiene practices. One such invention is the sanitizer gate, a technological advancement designed to combat germs and create a cleaner environment. While initially developed during the height of the pandemic, sanitizer gates offer lasting benefits that extend far beyond COVID-19. *Combating COVID-19 Concerns: Sanitizer gates emerged as a way to provide a quick and convenient method of full-body disinfection. They typically consist of a walk-through structure equipped with automated sprayers that disperse a fine mist of disinfectant solution. While the effectiveness of these systems in completely eliminating viruses like COVID-19 is still under debate, they can certainly play a role in reducing germs on clothing and surfaces. *Beyond the Pandemic: Lasting Benefits The usefulness of sanitizer gates extends beyond pandemics. Here's how they can benefit us in various unhygienic environments: * Healthcare Facilities: Hospitals, clinics, and laboratories can use sanitizer gates to create a cleaner environment for both staff and patients. This can help prevent the spread of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). * Food Processing Plants: Sanitizer gates can be implemented at entry points to ensure proper hygiene for workers entering production areas. This can minimize the risk of food contamination. * High-Traffic Areas: Airports, public transportation hubs, and even large office buildings can benefit from sanitizer gates. They can provide an additional layer of hygiene control in areas with high foot traffic. *Important Considerations While sanitizer gates offer potential benefits, some crucial factors need to be considered: * Solution Type:*The disinfectant used in the gate must be safe for human contact and approved by relevant health organizations. * Efficacy: The chosen disinfectant should be effective against a broad spectrum of germs. * Maintenance: Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the sanitizer gate functions properly and the disinfectant solution remains effective. *The Future of Sanitizer Gates Sanitizer gates represent a step forward in hygiene technology. As research continues and the technology evolves, they have the potential to become a valuable tool in creating cleaner and healthier environments in various settings, not just during pandemics. However, their effectiveness relies on proper implementation, solution choice, and diligent maintenance.

Recently it has been commemorated the 21st anniversary of World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a date established by the International Labor Organization (ILO) to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. At PWO Mexico, we join the global community in reflecting on our safety and health policies and practices. Our goal is not only to comply with current regulations, but also to foster a culture of care and prevention that translates into well-being for each of our employees. From the administrative areas to the operating units, each sector is provided with personal protective equipment and the necessary tools to mitigate risks and promote safe practices. To support this culture, we have developed systems that are aligned with ISO 45001:2018, NOM 017-STPS-2017, NOM-STPS-030-2009, among others; where risk analysis, operational controls, audits, training, etc., are performed with the objective of continuously identifying and evaluating potential risks, as well as implementing appropriate preventive and corrective measures. In terms of health and nutrition, we work in collaboration with an industrial food service company, which, with the support of an expert nutritionist, offers carefully selected food. These menus are designed to provide a balanced and adequate nutrition in which we seek to promote healthy eating habits. With the support of our health professional, weekly audits are carried out to ensure that the food is properly refrigerated, that the kitchen staff has the correct equipment to handle the food, and that the food is in good health to be in contact with the food. At the same time, we carry out specific campaigns to address important health issues, such as talks on the importance of early detection of breast cancer, offering key information on self-examination. In addition, we offer regular medical checkups that include audiometries, eye exams and other evaluations. These measures enable us to identify any health problems early and provide the necessary support to our employees so that they can stay healthy and productive. Our occupational health and safety policy is to optimize our processes and procedures to ensure the physical and mental integrity of all members of our organization. #PWOMéxico #PeoplePlanetProgress #WorldDayForSafetyAndHealthAtWork #SafetyCulture #HealthyWorkplace

𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐓𝐎𝐃𝐀𝐘 - who completed a recent pilot involving “washroom hygiene”. Washrooms can be a difficult area to manage, as maintaining good hygiene and resolving unpleasant sensory experiences are crucial but frequently disregarded parts of facility management and public health. Some of the major hurdles they handled during the Pilot are as follows: 1. Odor Control: Identifying the root causes of foul odors, such as poor ventilation, insufficient cleaning, or organic waste accumulation. 2. Aerosol Management: Managing airborne pollutants and diseases, especially in enclosed washroom situations. 3. Hygiene and sanitation SOPs involve creating cleaning processes and schedules to maintain a high level of cleanliness. By confronting these difficulties head-on, our rock stars have most certainly made a big impact on the successful pilot. Their efforts not only increased hygiene and sanitation but also benefited the users' well-being and enjoyment.
