Last week we started a team work toward the political contextualization of Philip Glass' Opera Satyagraha. We are working toward a video performance providing a live "counter-libretto," with the aim of interrogating/commenting/criticizing/accompanying the original one, constituted by quotes from the Bhagavad Gita. What is non-violent resistance? Were Gandhi's methods and ideas actually non-violent? If so how? Opera Singer & Voice Professor Vocal Technique Chat. Something that can happen when voices ascend above their passaggio is the tongue depression. The body is looking for a way to stabilize the laryngeal position and sometimes the root of the tongue will push down to give fake stability to the high notes. We want to make sure that the laryngeal tilt is happening in the upper middle voice so the tongue can stay off the larynx. Here is a tool you can try in your singing.
