More than 140 #SFDPH leaders and staff recently joined the HR conference on Strengthening Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racist Practices. Through a workshop led by Dr. Adina (she/her) Sterling of Columbia University, HR leaders and staff learned about methods to strengthen equity and address bias. #SFDPH is proud to put equity at the center of its work with employees and the community.

Recently, I had the privilege to discuss the leadership challenges faced by international medical graduates in the NHS at a workshop organized by Yorkshire Deanery. While diversity and inclusion initiatives are being implemented, it's essential to ask ourselves if we are doing enough to make everyone feel truly belong. The question is, are we only ticking off the boxes on the diversity and inclusion checklist, or are we genuinely working towards promoting belongingness?
