Project 2025. Hot topic.... Blaq Gurl Fya's founder, Safiya Eshe Gyasi ways in... It's July 31, 2024 and Trump is invited to speak at a convention in Downtown Chicago . Our founder was on her way to attend a Disability Luncheon with the Mayor. Before arriving at her final destination, protestors could be seen and heard outside of the bus window. Commotions occurred on the bus. Conversations ranging from admiration to feeling in-different about Trump presents in Chicago. It's now after 2pm. Our founder decides to observe the protests, but upon arrival on two people were left. Disagreement on Project 2025 erupted. Blaq Gurl Fya's founder views Project 2025 as propaganda. In accordance of the reality Trump-adjacent republicans sees fit. A great opportunity has been initiated. Of creating the new earth. filled with freedom, unity, inclusion for all. How can philanthropic giving be used to create institutional and systemic change????

It's official! The Trust for Civic Life has launched! An exciting day for folks building civic infrastructure, particularly in rural communities. From Hollie Russon Gilman, Ph.D.: The Trust is a new philanthropic collaborative and learning network with a simple mission: support local efforts that bring residents together to solve challenges they decide are most critical for their community to thrive. In times of polarization, we believe this is one critical step in the process of rebuilding trust in each other and forging a deeper democracy. https://lnkd.in/gQwUbPPH #democracy

I am one of the Angel Investors in our Equitable Time Exchange Global GreenBiz WOMAN, the Wellness Oriented Mutual Aid Network. I am a Health Edutainer (retired RN)
To tell you the truth, the logo & nonprofit name is triggering for me. It reminds me of a Pac-Man and the web of very wealthy people with connections to universities & politicians that has been conning the taxpayers & SBDC entrepreneurs with yet another way to keep true US civil engagement from happening. Yet there are many people involved in these piecemeal engagement & empowerment that have much to teach…and things to learn. It is an ongoing enigma of why all those people are refraining from the civil engagement WITH the taxpayers and those who are too poor to pay taxes yet not too proud to beg or take any type of public assistance. Some are moved solidly into the workforce so they can become the frontline in-debt single parent workers kept from proper trauma-informed care for themselves & their children. I will believe the sincerity of these nonprofits & magnanimous wealthy people & their Alma mater networks when they publically let their employees, volunteers play the “Everyone Counts Game Show”. Their boards & C-suite will have to onboard AFTER they watch, listen to their first group play. They will not receive any commercial air time until the culture of their company has become employee co-lead and the “I-HELP” plans are validated by each employee & their families that they are properly respected and feel like home & work & community are safe places.

Point B’ers want to build a better world. It’s what motivates us to create an enduring impact in the work that we deliver for our customers. And what guides how our people choose to spend time in service of their communities. We encourage our people to spend at least one day each quarter volunteering or giving back locally in what we call the Quarterly Day of Service. I recently spent a day volunteering with Defy Ventures and a group of men at the Stafford Creek Correctional Center (SCCC) in Aberdeen, WA to engage in community building activities and coach the cohort on developing and refining their resumes, personal statements, and business concepts. It was a deeply moving and enriching day for me, and an experience I am grateful to have as a business leader and as a human. This group of men had a profound sense of accountability, pride, resilience, and action-orientation. They know who they are, who they have been, and want to keep moving forward. Their hope for the future and themselves was both motivating and inspiring. Their stories of transformation were a powerful reminder that we have an incredible capacity to grow and change over time. Many of them have overcome challenging circumstances including violence and substance abuse in their homes and communities. And will again need to build resilience and overcome new obstacles as they embark upon their reentry journeys to navigate life after incarceration. For them, and anyone seeking personal transformation, providing empathy and respect are basic, and yet valuable gifts to offer. This was my first experience with Defy Ventures, and it’s been one that’s shown me a new path to make an impact in the world. As you think about your own community service, I hope you’ll use the following questions as a guide to inform how and where you’ll dedicate your time, energy, and resources. ➡️ Who are we serving inside and outside of our communities? How can we learn from them? ➡️ How can our service help to open doors for people in need or those deserving of new opportunities? ➡️ What steps can we take to both exemplify and promote transformational community service within our organization? #TeamPointB #GoBeyond #DefyVentures #DayOfService

I’m thrilled to announce that Technology for Families In Need has been selected as a finalist for the 2025 Brooklyn Org Spark Prize! Please keep your fingers crossed for us, the winner will be announced early next year. In an age where #technology and #AI are transforming lives, it’s shocking that 24% of low-income households in the U.S. still don't have a computer at home. This stat from the 2021 Pew Research Center report shows the urgency of our mission. At TechFIN, we’re committed to closing the #digitaldivide, and the need for our work has never been greater. Curious to learn more about how we’re tackling this challenge? Want to know how you can help close the digital divide? Visit us at tech-fin.org. #TechFIN #DigitalEquity #NonProfitImpact

Impacting Lives Through Empowering Individuals | Volunteer leader, Certified Enneagram Coach, Licensed Solemniser | ChFC®, AEPP®, IBFA
Community is more than a place. It's about the lives we touch and the impact we make. Chairing the Punggol West Community Centre Management Committee... I have seen the power of community engagement. It creates a space where people feel supported, connected, and empowered. The impact? We nurture a sense of belonging and mutual support. From youth programs to initiatives for the elderly, our efforts are designed to make sure no one feels left out or behind. Why this matters... In a world that's increasingly digital. The human connection matters more than ever. Our work in the community is a reminder of the tangible difference we can make in each other's lives. Here's what I've learned... Every contribution, no matter how small, has the potential to spark change. Whether it's volunteering a few hours, participating in a clean-up, or simply lending an ear to someone in need, it all adds up. And the best part? The joy of seeing our community... Come together. Overcome challenges. Celebrate achievements. Witnessing this strength in action is truly rewarding. So, here's my invitation to you: Get involved. Make an impact. Your community needs you. And trust me, the fulfillment you'll find in service is unparalleled. Together, let's make a difference. Not just for today, but for generations to come. #WeMakeImpact

Increasingly, since the pandemic, our Primary Academies have seen that more of our families are struggling. Too often, we see children coming to school in damaged shoes, in clothes that are too small; we see children, and families, going hungry; we hear from children that they don’t have any toys or books at home. We believe it is our duty to do what we can to change this. This is why we are opening Community Hubs: so that families in need can come to collect essential items. Our supporters have been instrumental in making these Community Hubs happen, pledging financial support and donations of items. Could you, or your company, help? As well as food, our Community Hubs will stock nappies, toiletries, uniform, clothes, books and toys - so even £50 would make a difference. https://lnkd.in/eDGVfxP9 If you want to add your support, please visit: https://lnkd.in/eH4bick4 Or message Emily Clarke #HarrisFederation #Education #CommunityHubs #PrimaryAcademies
