Honored to have been a part of an esteemed panel discussion on "Engaging Young Practitioners in Enhancing the Evaluation Ecosystem in India" during the Youth In Evaluation week 2024! It was truly inspiring to join hands with thought leaders, experts & young practitioners in the field, discussing ways to empower and involve the young and emerging evaluators in shaping India's evaluation landscape. A big shout out to the Community of Evaluators - South Asia and Sambodhi Research and Communications Pvt. Ltd. for organizing such an impactful event. In principle we all agree that engaging these YEE can go a long way in enhancing the evaluation ecosystem in India & for the same it's important that the capacity building for young evaluators be achieved. Highlighting some of the key takeaways from the discussion. 1) Integrating #evaluationapproaches and #methodologies into academia and #professional #training #programs can provide a strong foundation for young evaluators. 2) Internships, #mentorship programs, #innovation laboratories, and individualized training programs can help them grow professionally. 3) Additional factors that can aid in their growth include opportunities for peer learning, availability of pertinent literature, and avenues to #professionalcertification. 4) Organizations can support young evaluators by providing space for experimentation, #crosspollination of ideas, and opportunities for dissemination of research. 5) #Sensitization to practical aspects and engagement with key stakeholders are also important. Promoting evaluative thinking among primary stakeholders and #cocreation can be achieved through workshops and close engagement between evaluators and ecosystem players. 6) Finally, the future of communications in the evaluation field lies in #collaboration, convergence of data and storytelling, #inclusivity, and the creation of more discussion spaces. Looking forward to continued collaboration and creating meaningful change in the realm of evaluation. Let's keep striving for excellence and innovation in our practices! #YouthInEvaluation #EvaluationExcellence #COESA #SambodhiResearch

If you ever find yourself working on improving the inclusion of any marginalised group or in the space of #EDI, remember this: "To work in solidarity is to allow ourselves to be vulnerable and flexible enough to deeply understand the real needs of the communities we stand with and understand that these needs are neither definitive nor finite. They can evolve and change." - Basirat R-Shuaib Inclusion is not static. #inclsion #equalitydiversityandinclusion #allyship #transformationalleadership

Inclusion is not a one-size-fits-all concept. It requires understanding the specific needs of the individuals we serve. Whether it's language translation, cultural considerations, or accessibility needs, we must lean into this complexity to create services that truly resonate with our diverse population. It's a challenging task, but one that will help position our #publicservices to have the most impact. Read more in our latest @KPMGCanada blog co-authored with Sonya Gulati on what it means to practice #inclusion in #socialservices.
