Is it too early to drink Champagne? 🥂 In my last post on here I said I would take some time off and go work on some personal projects. No actual work for a couple of months, how nice would that be! And I have been doing exactly that … well almost 😅 This post is a tale of two halves. I went ahead and booked some amazing travel trips, all with the aim to add to a photographic book I am working on. But at the same time I was introduced to the lovely Claire Gazard at Blackfinch Group who has a wonderful way with words and I suddenly found myself agreeing to becoming CTO of a new project they were just kicking off. I’m a sucker for working with nice people and start ups and this was all that, wrapped up in my world of retirement and investments, so it wasn’t a complicated decision. I should point out that Blackfinch is very much an established firm, it’s simply that this new (secret squirrel) project is being treated as a start up. I’m here for 6 months to get things off the ground and somehow it’s been a month already and I’ve managed to not crack into the Champagne that came with my goodie bag. A nice way to celebrate my B’Day this weekend perhaps? The other photo in this post is just one of many I have taken recently. It is of Badwater Basin in Death Valley which has a vey rare ephemeral lake covering the surface of the salt flats that line the basin. The last time this valley had a proper lake in was 10,000 years ago. A golden opportunity for a nice photo or two and a reminder of how awesome this planet it. In other words, I always choose to live life and seize opportune moments when they arise. It feels good to say yes to things 😊

Congrats! Squirrel retirement is indeed an underserved segment, but I think it's a nut that can be cracked. 🐿️
