🌈 What a great Pride Month! Salsify celebrated our phenomenal LGBTQIA community, from Lisbon to Boston, with a happy hour, drag show, and screening of “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar”, bringing our community together for some fun and conversation. Celebration and awareness about what Pride stands for must continue year-round, and we're thankful to our Pride ERG lead Vanessa K. for keeping the conversation going. Click below to see a video featuring Vanessa and learn about her experience as a new Salsify employee and how we are working to create a more inclusive culture. How did you or your company celebrate Pride Month this year? 💬

You have just as much responsibility in how you receive feedback than the person giving it. When we receive something, like a gift, the most polite thing to do is say thank you. You may not particularly like the gift, but saying thank you (and then looking for the exchange card) will likely result in you receiving another gift at some point (with some gently nudging about the kinds of gifts you like to receive). When we receive feedback well, it is likely to keep coming, so we can be aware of blindspots and things getting in the way of our effectiveness. #deliberateleadership #onpurposeleadership #youarehowyoulead #leadwithintention #ritacincotta

UX Designer and Researcher, User Experience Specialist, and Professional Storyteller - Bringing fun and functional into digital products
How do you celebrate your wins? How do you let your users celebrate their wins? I admit that I can get stuck on the things that don't work out the way I wanted them or expected them to. Especially when you are in the weeds of a project on a tight deadline, it is easy to focus on the bad and not the good. The same can be seen when users give feedback on our products. They highlight what needs to be changed and worked on because it doesn't meet their expectations. Often the good parts of an app are quiet and barely noticeable because the product delivers what the user needs, so there is no reason for them to question it. This week, I stumbled across the Donut Manifesto (https://lnkd.in/evDGKiVS) by Lara Hogan that reminded me that sometimes, even when nothing is working out, it is more about perspective. Is everything bad? Or have I simply not been celebrating my wins enough to notice them? More importantly, if you can't see the wins in your product, how can you expect your users to see them? So, again, I ask: How do you celebrate your wins? How do you let your users celebrate their wins? Feel free to share below and give a little inspiration to those who are looking for ways.
