🌟 Exciting Challenge Alert! 🌟 Calling all innovators and problem-solvers! How might we help more companies to upcycle their discarded workwear and textiles? VAER, an innovative startup at the intersection of fashion, style, surplus textiles, and circularity, is bringing their challenge to the forefront at Circular Design Camp. This is a golden opportunity for participants to contribute to a company with a big heart and an impactful mission. 💚 👟 “We're diving into Circular Design Camp because we're grappling with specific hurdles in our upcycling collaborations with companies. By injecting fresh perspectives into these challenges, we're confident that we can not only inspire more companies to choose upcycling over incineration but also breathe new life into a larger portion of their discarded textiles. Moving from a linear to a circular model presents intricate challenges, and we're ready to tackle them head-on. It's crucial for young minds to grasp holistic thinking while devising tangible solutions that yield positive environmental impacts in both the short and long term, all while making economic sense for stakeholders. Practical experience is key, which is why Circular Design Camp resonates so deeply with us. We're almost envious of the students getting to participate!” - Lili Dreyer, Founder and CEO, VAER ✨ Wanna help VAER reach their goals? Reserve your spot now! There's still time to join the race for the coveted 25,000 kr. grand prize or one of our exclusive company winner prizes. Today we received great news. We won the #German_Packaging_Award 2023 with our latest development "The Minimalist" in the category Designing and Processing. What the jury said: "The newly designed and patented “THE MINIMALIST” spray head is made mainly of metal. This reduces the plastic content to 5% meaning the can falls into recycling class A with a metal content of 95%. This is an ecological and economic benefit, as significantly less plastic is burnt in the recycling process and at the same time, fewer levies are incurred under the Dual System. The unique technology opens up new design possibilities, and the designs are correspondingly innovative and diverse. The German Packaging Award jury considers this innovation fully worthy of an award." TUBEX Rangendingen is fueled by innovation and the whole team is very excited and thankful that this spirit is recognized by the jury and by this award. #monomaterial #sprayhead #design #lessismore #sustainable #recycle #award #innovation #solution #recycability #Eilkenbrandbuilding

🔵 At Girbau Lab we work with innovators and innovations from different fields. Among our goals, to reduce the impacts of textiles during the use phase and to provide better textile care thus increasing the life span of textiles. We also promote textile circularity and the hierarchy of waste: reduce, reuse and recycle. And we are interested in technologies that contribute to these goals. 👕 Vividye is an excellent example! A technological approach to extend the life of textiles and improve their recyclability. By making the print removable at wash, Vividye facilitates textile circularity in the long run. ✨ We have been testing the removability of Vividye prints during the washing process in our #OpenLab. At Open Lab, we collaborate with companies to test different solutions that may contribute to improving the use phase and life of textiles as well as their reuse and recyclability, today and in the long run. ▶️More information about the Open Lab: https://lnkd.in/dgzVFC5P ▶️ www.vividye.com ... #textilecircularity #textile #recyclability #circularity #sustainablefashion Emma Ingo Gustav Larsson-Utas Johanna Nissén Karlsson

In the heart of Romania's forests, artisans are reviving an ancient craft, foraging for hoof fungus to fashion into durable, #ecofriendly materials called mycotextiles. Meanwhile, in a cutting-edge facility in South Carolina, MycoWorks pioneers the future of fashion with Reishi, a leather-like material grown from agricultural waste and mycelium. Neffa, a Dutch company, innovates with liquid-culture techniques, creating versatile mycelial products. From New York to London, independent designers experiment with mycelium's transformative potential, from breaking down old garments to infusing new colors and textures. The future of fashion is intertwined with nature, where mycelium holds the key to #sustainability in style, and all possibilities this brings. ‘NO’ is often seen as negative, we embrace it as a powerful tool for transformation. With this design we illustrate the different times that we say NO. NO to Harmful Chemicals New Optimist only works with 100% natural materials, so it only makes sense to say NO to traditional screen-printing methods that use harmful chemicals. We found the sustainable answer: YES Twee Jongens and YES water-based ink. We’re excited to present our collab with Twee Jongens who made sure that the final result is without compromises. NO lost connections Outsourcing production to distant factories has become routine for many brands. We recognize the value of maintaining close connections with our local partners. Twee Jongens is the perfect example. They are an 8-minute bicycle ride away from our NO-kledingfabriek. This print is all about maximum effect of design choices, celebrating local partnerships and minimum environmental impact. We want to thank Twee Jongens for saying ‘NO all over’ with us. We are excited to announce that our project in collaboration with Cassie Quinn of CQ Studio. 🙌 has been selected as one the projects of the EU’s WORTH Partnership Project of the 3rd call. WORTH Partnership Project is funded by European Commission, EASME, under the Programme for the Competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises aiming to encourage entrepreneurship, give access to financial funding, provide market exposure and create better framework conditions for competitiveness. Our aim is to develop an end-to-end process for manufacturing regenerative bio-skin, exploring the use of hemp fibers and agricultural waste streams to produce bio-skin sheets free of harmful chemicals, toxic dyes, plastics, and large amounts of water. 👩🔬 This collaboration is fundamental in demonstrating how next-generation materials can unite with traditional craftsmanship, ensuring that heritage techniques are not lost with the implementation of new technologies. We aim for this project to set a precedent for regenerative design in the textile industry, with potential applications in fashion, interiors, home goods, and more. Our ultimate goal with WORTH Partnership Project is to create regenerative, plastic-free bio-skins, with a functional and scalable manufacturing model ready to launch to the market. Additionally, we will develop a collection of these bio-skins with various finishes, colors, and textures, always maintaining the technical and aesthetic functionalities typical of CANUSSA LAB. 💪 #WorthPartnershipProject #RegenerativeMaterials #SustainableFashion #CircularFashion
